Chatting with my boys at the weekend and it looks like both of them have managed to get themselves new jobs. Hopefully they'll be able to afford to get themselves a place of their own, as it sounds like living at their mum's place is turning into a bit of an ordeal! Here's hoping.4 points

Pellet Burner's done! Then at 4PM today I've got to pick Jake up to take him for a haircut, so I'll get mine done at the same time. Midday on Wednesday I'm booked into Juan Cortes for the tyre and handguards to be fitted!4 points

I like the coloured film footage they do now technology’s moved on. When they started doing it it was so clumsily done it ruined the footage but now it make it seem more real. The footage they’ve done that shows people smiling and milling around outside their doors completely oblivious to what’s coming is always chilling.4 points

I go on a few Facebook groups for WWII then/now pictures. I think one of them is DDay then/Now or something like that. Another one I like is Tom Marshall, who colourises old WWI era photos. It completely transforms the images. I guess it's a bit morbid looking at these pictures, but it does bring home to me the bravery of the soldiers and the futility of war!4 points

Delayed UBI, don’t know wtf I’ve done to my neck but it’s not happy. Woke me up multiple times, might have to move into old people territory and start taking painkillers before I go to sleep4 points

I still have vivid memories of the first bike trip I organised to the uk with 4 or 5 mates from here. We visited my parents, my mum cooked and we had hours of fun trying to explain "Toad in the Hole" ( Le crapaud dans le trou) before moving on to cheesecake, which is neither cake mor cheese...4 points

They've brought in a thing in many cities over here where you have to get a sticker for your car/bike etc. Vehicles get graded by their emission figures and then fall into a band between 1 (least polluting) and 5 (most polluting). Access to some cities can be limited to Vehicles in the lower polluting categories at certain times. The stickers are only 3€50 or thereabouts, so registering is not expensive. Fortunately, all our vehicles fall into band 1 or 2, so there shouldn't be any problems for us. Where Mandy works is within the zone for Montpellier, but her car is band 1 anyway.3 points

We've used AO (appliances online) in the past and delivery was free from what I can remember. We used Darty here and delivery and installation were in the price, but they weren't any more expensive than any of the others.3 points

It's always the way. The week before Christmas you can guarantee things to break down. Our water heater died a week before Christmas last year, but managed to get a new one fitted on Christmas eve! Hopefully you can get it sorted OK @Clive.3 points

We got it dropped for my boy but that was a washing machine and a dryer. They started off wanting £40 each. Lots of places online under cutting them, they try to make it difficult by altering the model numbers making it difficult to match. Deserve loosing the sale for that alone.3 points

If there's no extended warranty the salesman would prefer not to have the sale......cos he'll get bollocked for it. I know how DSG operate as I worked for them for a while.3 points

These are the nominees so far: Pedro Grasshopper Saul boboneleg Sir Fallsalot Buckster Slowlycatchymonkey And as we've got quite a few I think we'll do it by a daily elimination process when it comes to the voting, as we did with the Mod Poll. So if your choice gets eliminated you can then recast your vote for one of the remaining nominees!3 points

The door on the pellet burner started rattling at high speed.....so I called them to come and check it out. Looks like the gasket is defective so they're picking up the door later (once it's cooled down) to fit a new one. All under guarantee so no sweat!3 points
