Well looks like I will be staying close to home this weekend. Most of the forest service roads are closed due to the rain storm. Too many mud slides and trees down over the road. So much for my Himalayan fun. Then my favourite road along with many of the side roads are still closed, so much for my Honda fun.... ....and NOW we have fuel rationing because the supply roads are such a mess and they can't get volume through, only 30L allowed at one time per visit......so much for my 4x4 fun. Sooooo, good thing I have many fun and interesting projects around the house to keep me busy....5 points

There's a formula for bridge height signs that errs on the safe side, so it is probably half a foot higher then that. But then some twat resurfaces the road and doesn't tell the bridge people who look after the signs that there is more or less room of course. From Chapter 4 TSM 7.4.1. The imperial figure shown on signs to indicate the available headroom should be at least 3 inches less than the measured height to allow a safety margin. If the resulting figure is not a multiple of 3 inches, it should be rounded down to the nearest lower multiple of 3 inches. Example 1: measured height 15’-2”: Step 1 subtract 3” to create a safety margin 14’-11” Step 2 round down to nearest multiple of 3” Step 3 sign as 14’-9”. Example 2: measured height 14’-6”: Step 1 subtract 3” to create a safety margin 14’-3” Step 2 sign as 14’-3” (rounding down not required as already a multiple of 3”)3 points

I’m not a fan of these new full colour displays. Fella with a 2020 Africa twin had his fail, saved only by his warranty. £2,400 to replace it plus labour. They’re in fashion right now, my own bike was mocked in 2018 for not having it, I’m rather glad about that. But it’s certainly put the wind up a few owners. The cost if it goes wrong.2 points

From the link above, this is currently being converted into our new Town hall, no one wants to work there it's a nightmare to get to or park around. Even the Elephant Man died rather than stay there, I bet I get his old room (when they finish getting all the asbestos out of it), or a desk outside on the old helicopter pad, I'm sure that wasn't an original feature!2 points

Ride by wire throttle, rider modes, fecking TV screen stuck in front of you and it weighs 15 pounds more than it's KTM sister. Oh ! and it's not a LC8 engine , the LC8 twin was a V-twin configuration . On the plus side it looks better than the KTM 890.1 point

Mostly getting back to the good life Packed up a case with some luxury items, loose twist pile (sounds like folk on this forum) xtra lrg bath sheet size towels, Egyptian cotton sheets, heated throws, good quality chocolate, branston , tracklements extra hot mustard, pork n pickle pies … oh yeah this trip is just waaay hard core Bonus, my good friend who’s joining me wants a car to get about, fair doos I say and hire one. I go over on Monday evening to help her with the annoying covid forms and ask her if her passport and driving licence are in date…. Passport yes, driving licence? Wot they expire? She applies to renew her licence Tuesday morning. I think how great, I get to drive her everywhere in a car like a holiday chauffeur while my bike sits idle, can’t wait Then she text me about 4pm to say look wot turned up. Yep her new driving licence arrived, applied Tuesday arrived Friday1 point
