  2. I wouldn't fancy riding on the dirt with that front tyre after the weather we've been having Bob i would describe it as gay as the tyres Pete would fit

  5. My mate dead Phil was was a bit like that. I had great pleasure telling him there was no way he could win in a race with me because he was on a sports bike and i wasn't, so if i won he would be totally humiliated and if i lost i didn't really lose because he was on a sports bike and i wasn't so he should win

  10. Always a laugh when the silly cunts had to take a piss and needed to roll the outfit down to their ankles! And don't me started on the fucking humps on their back!

  11. My best mate used to be a green one, Still gets shitty when I take the piss nowadays even though it was 1996 when he had his Kwak ZZR600. I always remember his face when I went out with him for his first ride on it, me on my K100RS. He spent weeks, waiting for delivery, telling me how he would do his best not to leave me behind when he got the ZZR but it was me who had to wait for him on several occasions. No super hero claims from me just competent , he was on a much quicker lighter bike, but a Noob with a new bike and a very twitchy ring. There may have been a hint of putting manners on him a couple of times but only when it was safe Mind you I then had weeks of him telling me once it was run in, yada yada yada. I never claimed to be quick and don't now, but there is something about some guys with sports bikes, got to be billy big balls. . All the power rangers around here used to walk bandy legged like they had shat themselves.

  14. 11/4/24. First Damerells bike night of the season. Not many there around 25 bikes came and went but me and the youngest enjoyed the ride out and had a mooch around. Chloe has set her heart on getting a red CB500R like the one we saw tonight which is an achievable goal for her in 2 years. Got her a Dr Pepper and a sausage sandwich plus a blast down the A30 and she was a very happy bunny. So much so that I am apparently not allowed to go to a bike night without her now . Not sure if that will last but she is dead keen nonetheless. She did make me laugh as she compared her bike to the CB125F’s that were there and came to the conclusion hers was better. Ever got to the stage of pointing out one of the riders and say ‘look at that great lump he must be twice my weight, I would ave him on the road’ I of course said the sensible thing but it did amuse me, she has the bug.

  17. I remember going to the NEC in the 2000's for the bike show with a group of mates. I remember one mate on a R1 who had to stop every hour or so and was crippled by the time we got to Brum. I was on my 1978 R100RS and totally comfortable all the way there and all the way back. Old bike but very good at what it was built to do.

  18. Same here Saul , I’m surrounded by them in work but I have no interest in riding them . The only sports bike I kept for any time was my RD350YPVS

  19. Another friend had a Honda CBR600RR a few years back. I tried to sit on it, but it was excruciating, even without actually riding it! He said that he liked it, but couldn't do more than an hour on it because of the riding position and the noise from the exhaust he had on it. He's got a Honda 800 Crossrunner now, which his missus actually enjoys going on the back of!

  20. A guy I used to know always went for sports bikes and 1-piece leathers, but he was seriously slow! I'm not a speed merchant, but when he did come on a rideout even my missus was quicker than him. Then people would take the piss out of his chicken strips and he'd get the hump and go home! I really never understood why he was drawn to sports bikes.

  22. I got a load of flak when I got the 1st T Max, the usual remarks "we will wait for you" it was very rare that they did, and when we arrived at our destination my helmet, gloves and jacket went under the seat, while they were walking around carrying all their gear with them One guy, Trevor, was the one we waited for on his Yamaha Divvy 600, it was a bit faster than the scoot but not by much, Trevor was a bus driver (no offence to @Buckster intended) and he rode his bike like he drove his bus, in as much that he was very reluctant to even attempt a overtake on other vehicles.

  23. Funnily enough the same guy offered to give me his green power ranger suit, hump, knee sliders and all the other day when I was having a cuppa over his. Shouldn't be too mean he is a good guy and our daughters are thick as thieves now. Just back then he was a young squaddie with all that entailed. He never had a smaller bike but was put through all his tests in the mob so had to have a sports bike. Hence all the gear and no idea.

  25. The 'old' engine know as the RFS (2002-2007) is widely regarded as the best engine KTM ever built . The engines from 2008-2012 were not as good , held less oil and were prone to early destruction. Then they got it right again with the newer (2013 0n ) engines . That's why 400, 450 and 525 EXC models (RFS engine) hold their value . Go on the KTM UK forum for guys who are in the know . https://www.ktmforum.co.uk/forums/

  28. My thoughts after 20 km or so. Definitely took longer for the engine to reach operating temperature...the pipes are of high quality and welds are done by a machine I think..extremely light for steel pipes...we're talking around maybe a 5 hp increase at the most...I did a few hard acceleration with it...power to weigh ratio on this thing is something to be hold ..maybe it's because I haven't ridden it for a wyll ..was lifting the front wheel at 100 kph with ease..no engine codes popped up ..that's what I was worried about since the exaust is free flowing now...has for the sounds it sounds good but blackbetty had the edge..think it's cause it was a true dual and not a 2 into 1....can't wait for a longer run

  29. Supermoto version out there too. A mate got one last year and blew the engine apart in the first week. He's rebuilt it now and all's well. Another mate has had one from 6 months old and it's still going strong.

A monkey with a typewriter could literally make more sense…but what the monkey would produce would be like rocket science for those make up his supporter base.

  43. Yes for a couple of years. Found it tall but fine while riding. I was more used to a Xl250 and 500r. DRZs lots faster and lighter, but tall. Very capable and reliable if you can find a good one. When I talk about falling off that's something I'm good at, never real hurt other than pride.
