First day was full of adventure and amazing views of the Douro Valley away from the tourist. Beautiful nature and at the same time man made landscapes that look like gardens but are actually working farms of wine and olives. This is a little daily news video, later will come riding videos.6 points

We have seen reports of children writing distress messages on a sandbar off the Welsh coast on a deserted island called Whathinghillshirefromerreefsinhillfiasheracewaitsdstead. ?4 points

Lol ? I guess that I wanted something a bit "adventure" and less "hooligan" than the Speedy. The CB500X seems to be fairly popular and at the price including 5 years warranty and breakdown cover it ticked most of the boxes. Like Xtreme, there's a good number of dirt tracks and fire break roads around, so something with a bit of mild offroad capability seems like a good idea. ?3 points

I still think that it won't sell. Not in Europe anyway, the aesthetics of that front end... and it's a Harley. there'a a huge portion of the riding world who would refuse to buy one however good it is on those two criteria alone. I'm not saying they're right, i'm just saying they exist. Add to this the lack of dealers and tech support outside of the US and you have another reason to not want one. Like it or not, these are all real factors in motorcycle choice. However, they have called it the "Pan America" which situates its target demographic pretty clearly in the US, which is where they already have a serious market, the dealer network is more developed and being a domestic product is a sales argument rather than the contraire. So far I have only read reports from professional riders or journalists, mostly from manufacturer organised test days. The real information will come when Joe public gets his grubby hands on it and starts dropping it and using all the wrong settings, and generally abusing it. I've already seen on various "adventure" sites, the nay sayers who ask "what happens when it breaks down half way across africa" " how you going to service the variable valve timing at the roadside in a guatemalan monsoon" .... "Pan America" if they have designed it for that purpose then I imagine it fits pretty much it's design brief.3 points

Stopped by the local HD shop today to see if they had the Adventure bike in yet (they don't). But Sweet Baby Jesus, what a selection of tee shirts! Freakin' thousands. Wonder why other shops don't put out tons of cool shirts with the shop name and city on them? I bet they sell 45 of these a day. @Buckster - PM me your shirt size and address and I'll post one to you. Makes me wish I had a HD so I could wear some of their shirts without looking like a wannabe....2 points

Do you need us to start chanting “Do it, do it, do it” ?? Oh no wait you cant flounce, its not in keeping with the sudden, mysterious and seemingly baseless flounces this forum prefers. You’re going to have to wait until no-one can fathom what just happened and then suddenly request all your posts are removed ?2 points

I went in 2019 and had a f’in amazing time. I’m not a festival person but the sun was shining on full blast the whole weekend, there were bikes galore, good trade stands, plenty of talks from people who actually walk the walk, lots of different bikes to test ride, an off road track on the premises, TRF ride outs, an adventure film festival hall showing good bike adventure films, tons of excellent food wagons, good live music n plenty of beer flowing and everyone seemed really bloody happy all the time, Ive never seen so many smiles with folk chatting freely to complete strangers. I’ll rephrase that last bit, Ive never seen so many legal chatty smiles before ? TBH it was like a parallel universe where everyone’s happy and I dont see how it can ever be that good again. But this year nearly every well known adventure/round the world rider seems to be going as are a large group of the women I went to the Himalaya with (and they’re chomping at the bit to get out) so who knows what with lockdown fever it might just be the best party ever... or it could rain incessantly and be a huge letdown, we’ll see ?2 points

Im mid tier management @boboneleg, not in charge and completly incompetent operating machinery, not my fault really i wasnt trained well to do anything right to be honest. Damning evidence the public school system available to me at the time was a complete waste of taxpayer money. ?2 points

Wish I could do this - I always pack and load my bike about 7 minutes before take off time. Never sure I have all that I need. But always have the debit card ready to buy shit on the road that I forgot.2 points

Have a look HERE Usual rules of course, the wolves and the bears generally leave you alone but wild cats can creep into your tent in the night, nothing worse that waking up with an unwashed dangerous pussy on your face.2 points

Good points. I guess that the Honda ones not featuring in the owners forums is not an encouraging sign? I would speak with the mechanics at the dealers, but they all talk funny here! ??1 point

Sad int it. For some reason I can’t fathom in this country it’s seems to be acceptable to treat people who work in shops like they’re subhuman. A friend of mine works in Asda said the most oft repeated word (out of earshot of the customer) is now cunt. Maybe Buckster should apply for a job there, teach them how to truly express themselves ?1 point

Why are you asking the women about colours, it will be like asking what colour you want to paint the living room they will come up with some colour no man has ever heard of and 10 minutes after you finished it they will say they don't like it and make you change it1 point

drop "adventure" go with "motorcyclerider.com" or .net we're more about the riders than the actual bikes themselves1 point

Evenin’ all How’s tricks? I see in my absence you sent Bruce over the edge. Ive seen quite a lot of films featuring boats and theres always cabin fever or an insane captain theme in there somewhere so maybe he just drank too much seawater and will realise we cant survive without a slice of Bruce Butt?! Anyway. Nice tech break.. apart from all the emails, messages, online banking and all the work that had to be done onbloodyline ? Getting out for a ride tomoz, cant wait, meeting up with a couple of friends I haven’t seen for a very very long time due to Covid. Well thats the plan, one of them has just noticed his tyres on his new old bike are splitting and will have to get new ones asap but will it be done in time to meet up in Gloucestershire tomoz? In my pandemic shrunken world this now counts as a major event, the suspense is killing me1 point

The world has changed now Phil......that name is no use in terms of exact match keywords. And as you know we always used "bikes" in the domains.......but doing searches on "bikes" now just brings up bicycles. "Motorcycle" and "Forum" are the key terms!1 point
