Two of my favorite video games from 20 years ago or more.

There are two games in this series, they were originally made for SAS training and were aided in development by someone from there, they were also used by the Australian Army and Navy that I know of.

As you might expect from the years 2000 and 2003 they are very simple and will run on just about any computer, the graphics are low but the overall look is quite acceptable.

Now the good part, they are as hard as fuck to play especially if, like me when I first played it, you figure the whole thing out by yourself, once you get into them you will find that there is no correct way to infiltrate Eastern Military bases to carry out your missions.

You can do anything and go on any path that you choose, think of it as a bit like chess with guns.

Also when I started playing YouTube didn't exist, these days the game is all over YT but if you look up missions there you will only end up playing someone elses moves, it's ultimately better to make up your own, so I have been playing IGI for 22 years and IGI2 for 19 and still play a mission or more everyday, it's good brain exercise and good for showing your bottle in tense situations.

I don't think anyone plays computer games on here!

I did back in the 90's with Wolfenstein, Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Quake, Unreal, Unreal Tournament etc.

Don't think I've been near any games for over 20 years though.

I still have a PlayStation (somewhere) console........last game I bought for it?.....the original Tomb Raider and Turok....that long ago.

My boys had this game that I remember.. Duke Nuken  I think it was called...i finish all of the levels.. Wasn't my thing... Got kinda hooked on that one during this one winter.. Decades ago..

Duke Nukem, I remember that. 

I played video games the entire time I was a uni. Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the Hedghog, Mario, Donkey Kong, Banjo Kazooie and Golden Eye. I can still hear SAAAAYGER as the Sega Megadrive powered up

No interest in them now though.

Both my boys play online games as does Mr Slowly sometimes. It's a different world now, they're connected by headsets and even though they're miles apart they'll play a game together and chat shit. I think it's a great way to stay connected and enjoy a bit of socialising if you like that sort of thing.

I'm probably a bit of an oddball here but I have never played video games.  They hold no interest for me whatsoever, I'd rather be in the garage fettling bikes

Have you seen Stephen King playing a cleaner in Sons of Anarchy? He was pretty good.

My kids have never been into video games and there weren't any affordable ones when i was a kid just arcade machines, which i used to make the wiring harnesses for i think i was around 18 at the time. they used to have a game called the golden axe in the canteen which i was addicted to playing and used to stay on an hour after work playing it while i waited for the rush hour traffic to go

Mid 90's......I can remember selling that PS bundle when I worked in Comet in Bletchley.

Yes I remember all of them, loved Wolfenstein,  A few year ago when the kids were smaller I used to play Minecraft with them.   Bleddy loved that, could lose a few hours Minecrafting now if I had the time to do so.

I used to play Civilization and Stunts. Stunts was a very basic car game in which you built your own tracks. Also F15 Strike Eagle, this was around 1994 I think, on a PC and loading them with floppy disks.

Later Need for Speed on the PC as well.

Later a Sega with Shinobi and Sonic, and Sega Rally.

Then a lot later, Playstation with Grand Turismo. I then drove the Nurburgring for real and lost interest in games.

What I really liked was before all that, an old Atari with a game where you’d protect a ship from falling bombs or lightning. My dad would set it up on rainy weekend afternoons and two of my neighbours would come by as it was quite an event!  A controler broke and it was actually fixed by an electrician shop that fixes TVs, no chance of that today.

Wolfenstein was the first in 1992......but it was Doom that literally put the PC on the map for games.

We'd come back from the Friday night pub outing and play Phoenix on the Atari. Me and my brothers girlfriend would would trade high scores by how many times we'd go round the clock.
Bubble Bobble, me and the misses on 2 player for hours. This was commodore 64 times and then the Amiga.

My boys play online with headphones has well... New generation I suppose...
