  2. Going out to dinner with a couple of friends tonight, it looks like rain tonight so on´t want to take Maria's soft top as the top soaks up, decided to take the 320 even if it's in need of a proper service. Who needs brakes anyway? so just for @Saul: One main beam bulb was out, so got two and just fitted in 10 minutes, two Osram bulbs for 5€ Then checked the stoplights since I had a warning on the onboard "computer", as soon as I pressed them the warning went out, will look into it. Marvel in the sound of a rotting exhaust And since it'll be parked outside for a while, also turned the alarm on, which surprised me by working perfectly after many years switched off! There you go, happy motoring out to dinner!

  9. Remember years ago when they used to come around with aerial photos of your house selling them door to door? Anyway this shows the pinch point at the corner of my house, plenty of room in the garden but poor access.

  10. About a year or so ago I ordered a battery operated air pump......but it's fucking useless. So I've ordered this one from Amazon......mains (or lighter socket) operated, thousands of positive reviews, and on a deal at €50. The wife reckons she knows how to operate it!

  16. What I find funny is that despite the obvious contempt they have for each other, Zzzak and Buckster are absolutely two of a kind. They both believe patent absurdities, they are both hopelessly scientifically illiterate but lack the basic intelligence or even the self-awareness to realise it, both of them believe that self-educating from the most painfully imbecilic sources is not only a sufficient surrogate for genuine expertise but is actually superior to it, neither of them shows any capacity to learn or adapt their thinking, and the positions adopted by both of them not only requires every genuine scientist working in every academic and scientific research institution around the world to be wrong, but to either be blissfully unaware of the fact that they are wrong or be colluding in an international conspiracy of silence. And none of this causes either of them any cognitive dissonance whatsoever. The pair of them are Dunning-Kruger personified: boundless confidence in limitless ignorance.

  17. 24 years ago when I bought the house I had the front garden paved for parking, we can get 3 cars out there comfortably 4 at a squeeze but to get around the back is a pinch point as we live in the corner of a square. I intend to build a bike shed in line with the gate opening so it should be user friendly for me and the maid to get out bikes in and out.

  24. Today I have mostly be widening my back gate to make access for bikes more manageable. I increased the opening from 33” to 41.5”. My theory is that I will be able to get my Hornet through with bar end mirrors fitted. Funnily enough I used to be able to get my R100RS through the 33” opening with care looking back it seems impossible now but I know I could and did often. Fuck me timber has become expensive. Love on the invoice you get 4” x 4” x 2.4 m post sizes. That’s British common sense right there Before Had to dig down through the 70 year old concrete path with my wood pecker of a breaker. To be fair when I was working as a gardener handy man I went through several of them over the years but they are surprisingly capable and were cheap as chips to replace. At the time a decent brand small breaker was £300 and this Aldi special was £30 and for the odd job like today it was a no brainier. After gate stretched and rehung. I am going to be redoing much of the garden over the summer and once that is completed I will get a couple of bags of chipping to put down to tidy things up.

  28. My Chinky came with a 2 year unlimited warranty, but It only had a couple of slight faults...ungreased headstock bearings and a disc pad that threw the friction material off, but WK did their best to weedle out of the claim, bike shop did a good job and got them to aggre to the parts cost though.

  31. Being 'objective' doesn't enter into it - it's a straightforward distinction between understanding the physics of radioactive decay and not understanding the physics of radioactive decay. Furthermore, I would argue that there is no comparison to be made between us when it comes to our objectivity. I couldn't care less whether radiometric dating 'works' or not, any more than I could care less whether evolution 'works' or not: I don't believe in them because I need to, but because the evidence for both is overwhelming. You, on the other hand, have a very strong vested interest in discrediting them because they fatally undermine Young Earth Creationism. Now whatever my personal views on wider religious belief may be, they pale into insignificance compared to the shear, thoroughgoing asininity of the corner of it that you have chosen to inhabit. For the low price of the complete surrender of your critical faculties you have elected to take refuge in a world of idiotic bliss, clinging to infantile views that other creationists regard as embarrassing fringe lunacy that is so easily debunked that it undermines the whole credibility of the Christian message. I have said before that it is perfectly possible to have Christian faith without needing to resort to this sort of rank idiocy. Perhaps it is time you put away childish things.
