  2. At the place I worked they would not have any drivers there at all if they sacked them for destroying engines There was one 7.5t driver, he ripped off a tail lift, tried to get the lorry under a bridge that was well signed with the height limit (height of the vehicle prominently displayed on the dash) and ripped off the roof and bent the tail lift leg, he also had several minor accidents with cars, so they put him onto van work, he chucked a nearly brand new Renault Traffic van through a hedge, written it off, they did not sack him, put him on inside work in the laundry, he left a short time after, and started doing agency work, driving 7.5t vehicles again.

  8. well I think our local prefect has finally lost it! this morning it was -8c ish and freezing fog, cars in ditches all over the bloody place ( i exaggerate a little... but I only have a 10km drive to work and saw 2, wifey does 20k in the other direction and saw 1 plus an accident) The mwin road through the village here was fun cos a water main burst during the night so it was a proper ice rink. Kids off to school on the bus, no problem, all the schools open. Tomorrow the forcast is for +4 in the morning, rising to 10 ish in the afternoon and rain. All regional school transport and schools are closed tomorrow due to extreme weather comditions... fucking lunatic i tell you.

  9. I've got two mate that have bought them. The first has hardly ridden it but Sandro (the second) is getting out on his this weekend. It'll be very interesting to hear what he has to say about it.

  10. Motorcycle reviews.......but from experienced people who know WTF they're talking about.....like Neevesy from MCN, MotoJitsu, or Fortnine. I don't put much weight behind these guys who borrow a bike from the local dealer, ride round the block, and then present themselves as some sort of authority on Motorcycling.

  11. I have been to the Menin Gate and sang at the service. Every now and again they have guest bands or choirs take part in the service and that is what we did. Very moving experience. Also been to the Pax (Peace) Monument at Dixmude. The hotel we stayed in was there. I tell you what also effected me more that I thought it would was the monuments to the Empire troops that died above and to the side of the Menin gate. The European troops were named the Empire ones were not, just monuments for the individual regiments.. Different times different values I suppose.

  16. I would like to have a test ride on a 450 rally. If it's ok on the road and looks nice up close I would be very tempted, I'm very impressed by everything that's been said about them.

  17. We also visited the cemetery where my great uncle is buried, who was killed during the retreat to Dunkirk. I was also shocked by the number of graves inscribed "Here lies a soldier, known only to god"! I would guess that 30% of the graves there (British and French) were inscribed with that! Very sobering!

  20. It isn't always sackings, this last place was more of a redundancy, we're still on good terms. The place beforehand I left before I smacked the owners face in because he was a complete bellend. Place before that was trade plates, I left there to go in to full time employment. So at no point have I been sacked, I've left of my own free will to go to another place that seemed at the time to have better prospects

  21. For me it would be a Morocco type of bike, it seems they’re treating the engine as not an enduro engine in regards to maintenance which I like a lot. If it’s happy to spend time on the road it would be a hard bike to beat. Curious as to what you mate has to say and what he’s done with it so far.

  23. The sun has been blazing down here for the past 2 days, damn cold though. Been a walk to the shops, not worth taking any photos as it's just OAP bungalows most of the way to Tesco. Got to remove the screen and dash on the scoot to get to the (suspected) faulty FI relay, but too cold in the shed, so can't be arsed. Good photos @Saul

  24. I'm not sure it happens all that often but the company started up last March and was down to 1 truck and so they say they needed to pull in the purse strings so they don't go under.

  25. That’s Dave Williams, terrified of getting something wrong that’s why he looks like that I reckon he could do with being fondled abit he might chill the fuck out for once. Just realised about the Harold Shipman quote . He is a retired Chief Fire Officer, lovely bloke and was a stalwart of Bodmin rugby club. The sort you would want in you corner if things got sticky, heavy handed in his day

  31. One of my relatives on my dad’s side (Great, Great Uncle Albert…..or something like that) was killed in November 1914 and has his name on the Menin Gate along with all the other soldiers that were never found. However, he’s also listed as being buried in White House Cemetery which is a bit odd so I’m going to pay a visit as soon as I get the chance. He was a drummer in the Coldstream Guards.

  32. Picked up, Mot'd, and off to sunny old Blackpool with a brew at Lytham. I was absolutely terrified every time i stopped. An extra inch would be nice... oooh errr mrs. May have to invest in some Daytona boots but they are minging. Why do they take all the armour off womens bike gear and then charge a bloody fortune for it. Does make my blood boil. Anyhoo, no one died and i didnt drop it. The actual riding of it is awesome. Can't fault it but it is tall. Cant thank the hubster enough. Constantly reassuring me despite my panicking !!!

  33. No I kept my cool it was him who was getting violent towards me, all from my trying to get hold of him to talk to him about wages, any contact with him was via a private number, he never gave it out to anyone, so I emailed the works email and asked polity if he wouldn't mind calling me when he had a moment, I gave him 3 days from the Friday where he didn't pay me to call which he refused to do even though sammie who is the transport planner had asked him and he said he would, so I went to the yard to speak to him face to face. I turned up and before I'd even opened the car door to get out he was effing and blinding calling me all the fucks under the sun, he said I'd only gone to the yard to intimidate and extort him (if I'd done so I wouldn't have been trying to talk to him would I, I'd have just twatted the cunt!) Then he said I'd done 10k damage to the truck, when asked for details on it he could only indicate a slight bend in the top sheet bar where a shovel loader had dumped a load of shit on the top despite it being obviously closed. So I then told him I'd be going to acas and that he'd hear something back from them. He called me back 2 days afterwards..... As for the incident with the bus, me and a friend found out exactly what bus it would have been through the bus tracker app and gave him all the details he would have needed to have but he refused, he also said he'd sack anyone who went to the police about the bus running me off the road. He's a pikey cunt it turns out so it's obvious that he's not doing shit by the book and doesn't want coppers sniffing around
