We are celebrating (as much as Lynne and I can with the lockdown) with all restaurants closed for the next month I am roasting a prime rib roast with all the fixings including Yorkshire puddings. We have officially paid off all our debt! No more mortgage and all other debt is finally gone. It feels fucking great.6 points

Had a couple of hours out this morning , early before the hordes arrive now that lockdown has eased. Thought I'd slum it for a while................ This is the Circus in Bath........ Moved on to the Royal Crecent and ignored the 'residents only signs ' I took my photos from here as down the far end there were two Bentleys , a Maserati, an Aston Martin and countless Range Rovers parked up. If I'd taken the photos near them the owners would have probably thought I was casing the joint5 points

to Beaune to stock up on tins of tuna, mackerel, sardines, fish soup, and various other delicacies from "La Belle Iloise" https://www.labelleiloise.fr/en/information/the-cannery-1 As I am to be in lockdown with the animals children I will need to feed them I suppose and tins of fish with rice, or pasta, or spuds, is about the limit of my culinary skills. Besides, I like fish but live too far from the sea for anything to be truly fresh by the time it gets here... I'd planned to ride anyway today so adapted my ride to swing by Beaune and pick up a haul of canned fish. fuel first Have you read "Clochmerle"? this made me think of it. A monument to the local dead of the first war when the french troops still wore bright blue uniforms. Rare to see one still coloured "Blessed be the cheesemakers" Epoisses has a well preserved chateau fortress that is still privately owned and in the same family since 1661 which is sufficiently rare in France to be worthy of note, as most of them changed hands with the revolution in 1790summat. The very pointy extremeties of the castle walls is typical of castles designed by Vauban who was the first person to figure out that a fort based on an exaggerated star floorplan allowed all of the walls to be swept by fire from at least one other he was an incredible guy and hugely important in French history. stopped her for Lunch and took a leaf out of Bobo neleg's book of lunch by having sarnies and a flask of tea ( how very english of me!) by the time I got to Beaune, which is a aealthy and pretentios place heaving with porche cayennes andBMWx6s and audi convertibles, and got what I wanted from a mindnumblingly dense shop assistant I needed to push a bit to get home before curfew so didn't stop much on the way back except once to remove the thermal liner from my jacket and have another swig of tea As per usual, I outran the gps and got home with half an hour to spare... about 320 km in all. ?4 points

I do indeed!! Thanks to @Pedro the bike has some very cool protection and Im now a very happy bunny!! Some might argue the bars are over the top, but to us they are cool and Im sure this will become a new trend!! the manufacturer actually match the color from pictures and its like they were always there. Also thanks to Pedro for the pictures, all my best images are Copyright @Pedro!! the bike feels a lot lighter, probably due to the new stearing bearings. Its also much nicer to ride with the new levers from TWM that were recommended by Jack Lilleys and found by Pedro in Porto, thanks again. Im a trully blessed motorcyclist!! Hit his bike and he not only forgives me but finds ways to make my bike better!! Dont have any words left to thank @Pedro . ? so like many times happens in life something that seamed bad, turned out to be a great improvement to the behaviour of the bike! as for me, still not found my confidence back, but it will come!!4 points

yeah, I want him to keep the old one as an "off road" chair that he can use as and when we're allowed back into town. that'd work so lng as we all know what the plan is in advance cos the carers need to know which chair to use for the day cos it's a looong and complicated job getting him into and out of it ( seeting as he can only move his eyes and his left hand a little.4 points

Dont give a stuff about other people, it was all for me. Happy now though, son rang from supermarket (they made made it out cos they’d used all the bloody hot water ?) so I requested a £15 bottle of Chablis. Back on top of the world ?4 points

On the way to the animals this morning we got pulled by the Guardia Civil. I wound down the window and said "We're not terrorists, we're Guiris". Guiris (pronounced Gearys) is the slang term they use for us as we would use Dagos for them. Guardia always try to keep very stern and threatening....but he ended up with a big smile and just said "Have a good day" and let us carry on. 30 minutes later on the way home, the same officer pulled us again at the same point. I said "It's the Guiris again and we're still not terrorists". This time he pissed himself laughing....and told us to carry on again. What's the odds he pulls me again this morning on the Beemer? It's really going to make his day!4 points

Good Friday i had a day out on the trails, took a few photos but just don't have it in me to do a ride report it takes so long, this is the first trail called Strata Florida a notorious trail for being wet, these are photos of every crossing of the river and some of the unavoidable puddles on the route and the remains of strata Florida abbey at the end. a good day to have my first real ride in over a year out for 11½ hours and covered just under 260 miles the old dog ran perfect even through the water3 points

Did you get the bars made, are they unique ? They look 'right ' on that bike as they match the subframe. Can I also say that you look ace on that bike as well Well done Pedro for helping out3 points

I saw nobody all day @boboneleg just cyclists around Nant y Moch area the trails were mine alone it was great, but a few from the TRF rode Strata as well. Funny you should choose that photo that's the one i had a dab in and it was over my knee on the far side and yesterday one of the guys was riding with his wife and she fell off in this crossing he said she and the bike went right under with only her head out the water.3 points

Out for an hour or so along the road leading south to Velez Rubio. Of course, we're not allowed to cross into Almeria itself, so it was up to the border and turn round. This is crazy shit! However, there are some nice ruins on the Granada side so I was able to get some uplifting shots of devastation, dereliction, and disrepair......which always brightens up my day. Amazingly there was even a little church in the middle of all this.....in very good order too. In the last pic taken from behind the bike you'll see the Granada province road sign further ahead......so as you can see, no laws were broken in the making of this production. Except motoring ones of course.....but they don't count!3 points

nah, he's supposed to be getting a new chair with a fonction that will "verticalise" him. ie move him into an upright position. He's tried one and though the upright position is good the chair is less good with manouverabilit and less capable outside on the broken pavements etc. We need to see if there's options available to remedy that, Oh yeah, the base model costs 26,000€ which is more than my car cost new...3 points

I am also looking forward to not working as much when things are paid down. It is also near impossible to find an affordable home on the Sunshine Coast. The last year has seen a record number of purchases and a record low for listings. I think with COVID people are trying to get out of the city and the coast is so close. I would never be able to buy now and feel very lucky to have the land I do have. Enjoy your freedom ?2 points

TLDR Thought I was going out but I’m not. Today was to be an exciting day for me. I was planning on going to the supermarket just because I can and to a shop to pick up a click n collect order, then to a friends house to drop off Easter eggs. It would have been my first day out (other than on the bike) in over a year. I kid you not, Ive avoided all supermarkets and contact with the outside world for a year due to having too many vulnerable/at risk people around me but now theyre jabbed and I’m free ? So I get my jobs done and go down the yard to train (a bit of rowing and yoga) then lay out a dress and new boots (that have stayed in their box since I bought them over a year ago), just normal stuff that Ive not worn or done for so long it no longer feels normal. I get overwhelmingly excited at the prospect and even have a glass of wine at lunch time. Whoop whoop. I turn on the shower to discover theres no hot water. NO BLOODY BASTARD HOT WATER. FFS. AARGH!! Heyho better have a glass of wine ? purely medicinal you understand to help with putting the new boots back in their box back and everything back in the wardrobe ??2 points

It's a great feeling. you are going to be amazed at how nice it is to not have that worry. It's like i'm free now and i can say screw it! if i don't want to work today then nope not going to do it. It took way longer than i thought it would but as you know housing costs here in Vancouver are insane. I never in a million years thought when i was young that my crappy house here in Delta would ever be worth well over a million bucks. Vancouver's done. there is no way a young couple alone can afford to buy a house here, a frigging condo ( flat for you euro types) start at $800000+ grand2 points

We stay clear of the wet stuff until Sunday so I’m off out tomorrow with a couple of old boys. One is on an ancient Kawasaki custom bike and the other is running in his spanking new Triumph Trident........so my Himalayan may just be the fastest of the three? ??2 points

I started the weekend with a Friday ride on Charlotte. Not as warm as I thought it was and a bit windy, but still, I love riding my Honda so very much. ? Stopped at the water to enjoy the beautiful view as the sky was looking cool. I was hoping to see some seals, as there was a bunch hanging around yesterday, but no luck.2 points
