Lots of competitive dad stuff back in those use days. Twas a Viking study so I made her a battle axe and shield. When the viking project was over she was only allowed to bring the shield home, if we wanted the axe back one of us had to go get it. The boards were the rough sawn oak floor joists from his Grandmother's 140 year old house in Nebraska. Had just enough material to make the top - the legs ands aprons were made from new oak and relic'd a bit. Sir Fallsalot Posted February 16, 2023 Share Posted February 16, 2023 Last night i discovered the battery tyre pump i have has a duff battery, I used it to pump the XR rear tyre up a few PSI and ran the battery flat even though it said it was 100% charged before i started, so put it on charge overnight but it wont switch on anymore even though it's showing 100% charged. So tonight i stripped it down removed the battery soldered on a length of cable (off the old tv i changed a month ago) to the battery wires and now its a plug in 12v pump, not sure if it will last as the original battery was 7.4v but everything works for now the digital display and pressure cut off setting even the little LED just need a fag lighter plug to finish it off now 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The one thing i'm missing is a mirror but there is nowhere to mount one, the only space on the handlebars to put a generic clamp mounts the mirror too far in and i cant see past my elbow so i decided to make a mount and bolt it to the hand guards Started off with this bit of aluminium bar i picked up in work a few years ago and offered it up to where i want to mount it I need to cut out a groove so the bar of the handguard locates in it, i used my chop saw which has a metal cutting blade in it to do multiple cuts to create the groove Lots of filing after this to take away the ridges and the curve of the blade but it's something i will do at the end as its a lot of work to do and then find out i don't like the end result I need to put a taper on the end so it doesn't clash with the wind protector part of the hand guard I have to guess the right angle so have a few attempts to get it right zero engineering skills used here LOL The part cut off and cleaned up Mounted on the handguard almost finished didn't have a tap with the correct thread pitch for the mirror so got to wait until the one i ordered arrives quite pleased with the way it turned out 7 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
