Electric cars are already on the way out, manufacturers are heading down the hydrogen route, that’s where the future is, the U.K. government realises that electric cars are not the answer and have already said they will approve more oil and gas licences as oil needs to plug the gap until hydrogen technology becomes fully viable.

I still don't understand how people thought the way forward was electric in the first place, the only true green alternative is hydrogen

It is yes but with the right research and development it would be better that electric

The problem with hydrogen is the same as with electric powered vehicles, we are all looking at the end result which is clean energy but not looking at what it takes to get to the end result. At the moment it takes a lot of polluting energy to produce Hydrogen so unless they can come up with a clean efficient inexpensive way to produce it Hydrogen use is going to be limited.
