My Christmas season has been spent looking after Mrs. Hook w/ her new knee...gotta admit that I'm proud of her for doing well w/ her recovery. Seeing consistent increments of improvement everyday. I just realised that my paycheck is like my wifes period arrives once a month and last for 4 days

I got on the beans a bit today, the bike is producing a lot of torque right from 1500 rpm through to I don't know where as I haven't gone past 5000 yet. It produces more from tickover it needs less juice to get going. I reset the throttle response to standard which was definitely the right thing to do. At the top end where the lack of Horsepower was evident before it just keeps going now so bhp is well up. Acceleration is very fast, I was the A68 for a while and passed a ton of cars and bikes, probably a couple of Hyabussa as well but it was hard to see them as they disappeared in my rear view mirrors. Climbing up into the Lammermuir hills it never missed a beat and the torque was relentless. It's a lot nicer to ride now, feels like a different bike. The valve train noise is really smooth now and the bike sounds really nice, different from before. I also noticed the sheep ran off more quickly but that might be just because it's a Harley and they didn't want to get raped.

It's all back together and the new air filter system is on.

This is Puskas, after 2 years of living in a shelter in Northern Portugal, sleeping with shelter from the rain but not from the cold he has now found out about central heating and soft beds and pillows and toys. He’s enjoying the warmth while outside the cold storms are hitting strong.

After now having done a longer trip on the bike here's some brief findings... It's got stacks of torque, makes it very easy on single carriageway A roads, towns and twisties, pulls like a train tips into bends like it's reading your mind, it's effortless, on rails, no wobbles and feels like cheating On bigger roads such as dual carriageways I don't like it much at all, high frequency vibes through the pegs and seat (not a huge issue) the throttle grip spring is too strong, makes your hand hurt trying to sustain a constant speed for long periods, it's also far far far too sensitive the tiniest of movement will cause the bike to slow and speed up making it feel like the fuelling is very bad on rougher roads, especially around 65 mph/4,000 rpm, I'm fairly sure it's not fueling as if I concentrate on locking my hand position it goes away It's nice to have aftermarket exhausts for some street cred, but on long journeys the drone is tiring and a nuisance, adding to rider fatigue This is a new one for me, I'm 5'7" (and a half ) and 12 stone dripping wet, so with the adjustable seat set to the middle position I'm finding my legs too cramped and it was causing knee pain, on a good note and can get both feet flat on the ground, I've only every been able to do that on my V-Max, ridiculously I may have to raise the seat for my loft 5'7" (and a half ) height but then the bars are going to be lower than I'd like and it already has bar risers fitted. I can get 58mpg if I ride at a steady 65mph which is good Over all it's a fun bike to ride through the twisties, puts a shit eating grin on your face but commuting or long distance is very disappointingly tiring and strained and I think I would most certainly opt for the car to do that If I can't fix these things I will most likley offload the bike and get something like an NC700/750 or a cruiser (yes I know I take the piss but I do like them really), I found my V-Max very comfy and solid even in the worst of side winds, just it's pathetic tank capacity and thirsty engine makes it impractical for anything but posing and drag racing, oh and putting me in a wheelchair for 2 months lol, I don't need all the power/torque of the CBF, even on my 400 scooter nobody overtook me except for the flat out hooners. The bike is heavy, oddly heavy in that wheeling it around is hazardous, I never had that issue with my Caponord (but that was 23 years ago) but there aint bugger all I can do about it's weight Maybe, a set of original end cans, one of those throttle cruise control things (not really cruise control, just a plastic grip thingy), also changing the cogs might help, 1st and 2nd gear are almost redundant, so perhaps a smaller front and larger rear might make it more relaxed riding PIC for attention

Just picked our dog up from the vet. He had vomititus at midnight on Thursday which got so bad that he was throwing up blood. No Idea what caused it and it was bloody scary, but £2000 and lots of worry later and he seems OK now thankfully.

Bugger! I could have took a photo on my epic ride to the hospital today.......I parked in the bike/motorcycle area, next to a R1, when I came out after visiting time he/she had moved the bike along 2 places!.

Well HH is a happy bunny, apparently his bike is going much better now with the new pipe, apparently the handling is on point now and the front brakes are awesome. Funny how having the right brake lever and straight forks does help . Seriously I am happy he is.

Ok, it was yesterday but I was waiting for photos. So we did the 'Santas on a bike' ride yesterday, all proceeds go to a children's hospice in Bristol. It was an amazing turnout considering the weather and good fun was had by all, the route was 18 miles in length and took us through Bristol with lots of peeps coming out to see it.

Another scooter day today, brekkie, tapas and 200 klms of twisty tarmac.

Collected the scooter and took it for a spin. Stopped by my mates place en route for a brew…………it’s addictive this twist and go lark Already been scouring the usual places for unnecessary bling and I can confirm it’s mostly chavtastic. Bring it on!
