  6. Well back on subject, the Dear Girl and I were supposed to be cleaning and sorting her bike today plus go through some of the controls for the first time I take her for a lesson. She listened intently about brakes and clutch control plus was pulling away pretty well, never stalled it once. She also got it on and off the stands without fault. Not bad for a 5"1" 7 stone newbie. Not so interested with chain cleaning/lubing/adjusting, tyre pressures, oil and general cleaning. Brushing it all away with the phrase "But you will help me with all that won't you Dad?" she knows me too well. She did polish the tank. She also grilled me about USB charging and a quadlock. . Have also just splashed out on a Lid, Jacket and gloves for her. .

  10. In a restaurant near Porto, octopus filets with octopus rice, Very typical dish, delicious. Oven roasted broccoli and carrots, with moroccan paprika for tastes. Simple basil pesto with local pine nuts, can’t go wrong. Proud of the platting. Again, codfish and chickpeas, me trying to perfect making a an oldschool portuguese meal. Tomato rice, fish filet on the oven with lemon, and spinach pepper salad. Great meal for very little money. Sofia’s carabineiro rice, great! Sofia’s vegetarian pie (with chorizo ), and grilled courgettes with garlic. Sofia made the dough from scratch. Nice meal! Sofia’s massada, Portuguese style fish pasta, delicious. Salad and Sofia’s upside down pie Pea rice and grilled pork “lizards”, lizards is the name of the cut. On the side there’s Sofia’s homemade focaccia with a bit of cheese. Sofia’s homemade bread for today’s dinner, finished 1 minute before consumption. I’m a lucky guy. Can’t have proper bread without proper wine, I think it says so in the bible, so there. This is proper stuff made 10km away from my place.

  23. Pete is afraid it gets stolen. I would look into one of those open helmets with a full face visor like Arai and Schuberth make, along with that big screen you should be fine.

  28. Keep the adjuster collar at the bottom well lubed and move it back and forth every so often Fred. Mine seized up probably because it gets covered in shit and I didn't use it enough.

  29. That’s the one you posted, beached on a rock. At least I admire that they don’t care about getting tired while setting up cameras to show how shit they are at something for a few minutes. I did like how he clearly went for stuff while obviously not very confident of himself, and his observations about things that jump out at him as noticeable on the places he’s riding through. Also, it’s very british to worry about the date for which you book a ferry out of Morocco. The ferry operators couldn’t care less if you show up two weeks late or early

  30. I have just ( taxed on the 1st obvs) insured it for me to ride so I can take her on the back to somewhere paved to practice and learn on. There is a carpark near us that a bike school uses so I am hoping to get away with taking her there one or two evenings a week in the summer to get comfortable with the bike ready for her CBT and hitting the road just after her birthday.

  32. Well, @ least there's NO visible litter in the background.... Fred's pics just make you cringe @ the thought of having your bike that close to H2O & dirt.

  33. use an orbital sander with sticky pads , i never use any filler, use a p80 pad to get rid of all the kerbing, then go over with a less course pad, grey undercoat to cover any imperfections then your top coat.

  34. Just been up to Damerells to check a few things out for the CB125. I wanted to get the bits to service it and see if it was still under warranty and order a spare key. They couldn't help with its history as I had to call the supplying dealer but they did assure me that as long as it had it's first service at around 600 miles all would be good. Also I bought the service bits at Damerells because if you service it yourself you have to prove you used genuine Honda parts. Well the bike has a Fowlers Number plate on it so I called them. First service done at 645 miles in October 23 so the bikes warranty is still valid until July 2025, Result.
