I've lived here 2 years, but the first year was nearly all lockdowns, so I didn't really come into contact with many people. Initially I tried learning from books and audio books, but it really wasn't helping. I bit the bullet earlier this year and am now taking lessons via Zoom once a week with a French teacher, to give a more structured learning approach. It's slow progress, but it is progress I guess.
