  1. Yeah.....finally had a connection long enough to finish my July video and blog! We woke up on July 1st, Canada Day, in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Not exactly where I thought we would be at this time, but we were here for a good reason. You see, we couldn’t have it both ways, either we buy a home on land or a home on wheels, both were not an option, we had to choose one. Saskatoon would be the place to decide this and it would change everything. A new home on wheels and a quest to find a beautiful resting spot for my Mom, this was July, with lots of trees, water and stunning places in-between. Here are a few moments from July and my latest blog to go along with it. https://www.grasshopperspath.ca/post/new-home-on-wheels-meet-ella-3-0

  5. Just walked down to my local supermarket a few minutes ago and spotted this again, still in exactly the same place. I first saw it a few months ago and tapped it with my foot. When it didn't move I knew it was the famous glued down coin trick beloved of children in my youth. The kid's probably forgotten all about it now, but I bet he watched for ages in the first week as people tried to pick it up.

  7. I had a wee bimble to try out the lid today, it was weird wearing full face for the first time in about 14 years. First impressions are that in full face mode it is quiet, the visor is completely fog free with the Pinlock, the sun visor could possibly be a bit darker. It is easy to flip the chin bar over to the back of the shell and I did this every time I was in a town or village and generally just used the sun visor although I did try it with the clear visor in this configuration as well, it felt almost the same as my open face when riding like this which was good. I didn’t bother with any riding glasses. As expected it was affected a little by the wind blast that comes up between the tank and the bottom of the fairing but I am planning on fitting a baffle to cut that down anyway. It also looks good which is important given how damn fine looking I am.

  9. They're both females (colouring tells me that), one is the mother teaching a young one to hunt, if they weren't they would be trying to kill each other, they're very territorial, especially at a time when young one's ae recently fledged.

Will not lunch as there’s a birthday party here and fucking lisbonners are turning this into a metropolis Rode a little dirt road for a bit, and stopped to let a tractor get away since I couldn’t pass it and there was nowhere for him to let me squeeze by

  14. Boring mode *ON* ( cos I hear a lot of people saying she should have abdicated in favour of charles years ago) Queen Elizabeth could not have handed over to Charles any sooner than she has done. She could have delegated more of the public appearances, as she did with the last state opening of parliament and a couple of other more minor occasions over the last couple of years, but no more. There is no provision in the United Kingdom's constitution for the abdication of a reigning monarch, there is no legal or constitutional framework for it. The option doesn't exist. When Edward refused the crown in december 1936 he had not yet been crowned and therefore was not technically a reigning monarch, though given the title King for the 11 months following his fathers death due to the rules of automatic succession of the eldest son, ( now changed by Elizabeth to the automatic succession of the eldest child) in the same way Charles is referred to as King Charles 3rd from the moment of his mother's death on thursday. Edward had to make his choice before the coronation. Charles will only become legally and constitutionally King at his coronation. Until that time he could technically refuse the crown as did his uncle in '36. Boring mode*OFF*

  28. I knew it.... You bunch of thiefs... Stay away from are codfish.... Just think about it now.... If there was no regulation on seal population... You wouldn't have codfish to eat and you'd be force to eat horse cocks... Seals have no natural predators to keep them in check.... Yes polar bears but that's in the north pole...

  32. Warning, couple of meals in this post are about to offend certain sensitive personalities that are more of the cheeseburger persuasion. Quick 20 minute fresh cherry tomato pasta: Canned horse mackerel sandwich Leftover grilled camembert and tomato bruschetta Hotdogs, with caramelized onion relish Mum's leftover squid from the previous day, turned into pasta the day after Proper summer meal, the amazingly sweet pineapple was the star Grilled courgette sandwich, with canned fish. It's a great sandwich, with olives and capers. Pantry sandwich, whatever's at home and opened goes in Basil and mint pesto, it was pretty much perfect Perfecting my Broccoli pasta, it's getting there and probably my favourite thing to cook right now. Although it's a paella pan, let's not offend anyone and just call it rice Vegetarian dinner: grilled aubergines, sautéed mushrooms with garlic, and salad. A simple onion omelette Lea the Terrier, very interested in this pasta sauce as soon as the anchovies started falling apart. No pictures of the end result. Octopus "à Lagareiro", baked with olive oil and potatoes. I obviously didn't cook it, a very nice restaurant did. "Lagareiro" is the man that operates the traditional olive oil press, most "Lagareiro" dishes are oven baked with garlic and potatoes, and a healthy dose of extra virgin high quality olive oil. The pesto was this place's touch and it worked. Giulia is an italian lady I know, she runs a restaurant in Germany and most dishes always feature peas thrown in one way or the other. I remembered her for some reason and peas went into the pasta, the result was pretty great. Comfort food, peas with quality chorizo from the Alentejo black pigs. I put a few different spices like turmeric, a lot of cumin, smoked paprika, some herbs, the home grown egg gifted by my neighbour finished it off perfectly and was a touch of love.

  43. trawling through some photos yesterday amd came across this from our last Britanny trip. In Britanny they make ( apart from crépes) whant they call "Kouign" ( pronounced "Queen") which are pancakes more like blinis and can be savoury or sweet. This restaurant extrapolated this and produces a "Burger Kouine" ( burger King, get it?) which has "Kouine" instead of a bread bun. Bloody lovely! uuuurrrpsss !
