  2. Out for a ride today and got stuck behind some of Buckster's brethren . Going slow and weaving all over the place, must have been his first time pulling a trailer ...

  3. Test rode my new tyres today at lunch time. Oooooh, so roundey roundey compared to the square ones taken off. Metzler Tourance NEXTs, same as the ones they replaced, which did a sterling 14,358 miles and were still legal if a little mishapen in profile.

  21. Today I've been playing with the nephews zx6r. Asked me to service it as it has a misfire. I expected to find a dodgy stick coil but after inspecting and testing resistance they all seemed ok. Gapped and fitted new plugs and all seems well again. Just turned 7928miles, should have been changed at 7500 so didn't get much extra out of them. Just waiting for new front pads and an air filter and then off to the MOT station. Did the tyre pressures to find 12psi in the front and 18 in the rear. Think he'll notice a difference when he gets it back. Pads almost down to the metal and plugs shot at 8000, think the previous owner did nothing but thrash it round the block.

  22. I doubt anyone would want to watch it but I found a war criminal type drama in 6 parts from 1981 on Youtube called Kessler. Load of old dated bollocks but I enjoyed it.

  26. It was the vaccine, the govt tracker microchips have sharp edges and as they migrated to the groin area caused hernias. Nothing to do with a huge number of respiratory illnesses causing large swathes of the older population to pop a gasket coughing. Nope. Nothing at all.

  27. And then a fast main with minimal ambient ingredients that would last on the bike. Overall it was a good hit with the tasting panel. Meatballs and Spaghetti The spaghetti cooked in a food flask in 20 minutes, I expected it to be below par, possibly claggy due to the smaller amount of water so was very happy it somehow turned out well. The meatballs went into a bag with the rest of the ingredients in the kettle and spent 20mins at 90 degrees. On a redo I wouldn’t be so reserved with the paprika and I’d use a stock cube. If I moved away from minimal I’d add maybe red peppers and definitely some Parmesan. It was a super fast assembly job that cooked quickly, just the thing when you’re tired and just want to get your head down quickly.

  32. Brutal heat this week......but things are going to get easier! Cos I got a price from OTSA last week for aircon in two of the bedrooms! The price was €1280 so I called in to see Pedro the boss this morning carrying a nice wad of cash! They love cash here as it's an opportunity for a spot of dinero negro......which is basically a national sport! So after a bit of banter I got it down to €1200......which is pretty decent I'd say! With any luck we'll get installation tomorrow.

  36. I grill steaks amongst other things, the fat is funnelled back into the cooking chamber where it becomes fuel, the fan powered by the heat keeps the battery cool and makes the burn hyper efficient, it also charges my phone or other devices while I’m cooking.

  39. I think Pedro that the way you ride about it doesn't ever take you to the point where you're fed up with restaurant food. I find after a week or so I'm sick of over oiled over salty food and fed up finding somewhere to eat when I'd rather not stop and would like to get some miles under my belt. I also get fed up having to have the same conversations over and over again. I'm from so n so, I've come such n such miles, I do blah blah for a living, yes I'm on my own, no I'm not brave. Yawn. The peace and quiet of your hotel room resting up and eating food you actually want takes on a different appeal once the novelty wears off. I'm guessing the cafes you stop at are not mostly Spanish speaking and you don't stick out as foreign or female

  40. As has been documented in my ride reports; I'll eat just about anything out of a gas station and be happy with that. Or just skip a meal or two. But, like Pedro, I do enjoy good restaurants that feature local delicacies during my my travels.

  41. Now at 13000km, maybe 14, the rear looked like this earlier today after being a little punished on hot tarmac. This is approaching it's end, but they still inspire confidence in the dry. You can feel the edges flex when leaning a little, but still a lot of feeling for a mixed tire. The new ones are at home waiting, I was hoping these would last till Morocco 2023, but maybe they won't.

  42. I make a point of enjoying restaurants and cafes when going places. Cooking out of a kettle? What? Brits call dinner their tea, is this the opposite when you say cooking dinner and it's really just tea?
