HAPPY NEW YEAR. My year wouldnt have been the same without you weirdos, I would have wasted less time and been a hell of a lot more productive but what can I say your my kind of horrible misfits and I do like wasting time. Looking forward to another year of verbal abuse and bubble bursting, not sure if associating with you lot is driving me towards or away from needing therapy but either way cheers Gif to balance up any sentimentality that may have accidentally come through above10 points

Started the New Year off right with a lovely long hike and found where the elk had been sleeping. I had forgotten how hiking without an old dog can be, I can go so much faster and further. I can track the animals in silence.....cool ...and not worry about the dog eating poop.....lol Funny enough, I went looking for the Elk, found where they had slept, but didn't bump into them until I was almost home, right in my yard.....lol7 points

Well it is for us over here......so Happy New Year Everybody! Bad news for those of you still stuck in 2021......things don't look much different here in 2022. Covid is still here and the world still looks a fucking mess! Will we ever return to the normal lives we used to have? Your guess is as good as mine.......all I know is we've just got to keep battling on while the world goes batshit crazy around us. So check in with your New Year time zones as they happen!6 points

All new year events were cancelled here, so we stayed home and saw the new year in with a Zoom with friends in the UK. Fairly restrained with the beers, so no sore head today! Anyway, happy new year everyone. Let's hope that we can get out-and-about with fewer restrictions in 2022.6 points

went to bed early, just to dodge the bullets raining down ('murica!). Happy New Year to all y'all. Let's ride more in 2022. I'm still trying to figure out if Betty White died cause 22 is going to be worse, or she didnt want to ruin 22 for us.5 points

I also find myself in a similar position now, without a dog the world has opened up and it's a bit freaky.... Travelling is the plan.... Someone already mentioned the heavy weight low and the light high, but also remember to think about what you pack on the exhaust side. I saw someone once pack their camp stove and fuel too close and well, you can imagine. Excited for you and your new adventures.3 points

Well, managed to get the driveway cleared yesterday and got out for some food and beverages. The snow is sticking around, which is weird, and now they are calling for more today..... By the end of the winter I will have super big shovelling muscles.....3 points

A lot depends on which bike you’re using. If you’re thinking of using your 400 then it could be difficult as sports bikes don’t really lend themselves to carrying a lot of luggage.3 points

The best most consistently reliable advice Ive had has always come from @Motobiker but his he has finessed his knowledge over donkeys years so its vast, youll have to ask him something specific because otherwise he’d have to write a book! Most of the knowledge he imparted I followed because it was obviously right but I remember him explaining he has one big waterproof bag across the back of his bike bought to be the same width as his bike measured with panniers on, that way theres only one bag to carry and lash on and off the bike. I didn’t specifically ignore that advice I just happened to already own 4 small ones and the bag I fancied was very expensive so best see if I like this motorbike camping first ay? Lashing those 4 bags on and off the bike drove me nuts, took 5 times longer than necessary and they always slipped and required readjusting after a few miles. Now I have one big bag and just two quality straps. Wish someone had told me earlier.. oh .. err3 points
