Heat blast is back this weekend....90+F for the next few days. The Misses & I are leaving by lunchtime on Monday for Jubilee lake....just as those temps start to back down. Managed to get a kwik ride in this morning, before it got stoopid Hot again...

Thanks Pedro....after owning it for 25 yrs., I sold it to my grandson after he helped me transplant a 305 ci small block V8 into it. It now sports a 454 ci BigBlock V8 w/ a TH400 transmission....

My bike cover came fully insulated w/ a pellet stove for heat & wired for 220v....enough room for a truck, boat & bikes.

Crazy Ass weather lately.....woke to 29F this morning....in AUGUST! The Misses & I are staying home on this Labor Day weekend....watch all the tourist traffic roll through town w/ their RV's....but come Monday we're heading to Jubilee lake only 20 miles away....where they only allow electric boat motors....gonna be nice & peaceful.

Amazing how much that looks like the southern edge of WA state....looking across the Columbia river from the OR side...along I-84. Drove it plenty of times. How long will this excursion last this time?

'69 Chrysler Newport.... my Grandpa had 1, but his was a convertible. It was the 1st car I ever drove....@ the ripe old age of 13. He also pulled a 30ft. Airstream travel trailer with it. Definitely a bonafied ROAD-Yacht @ 19ft. long!

Sweet Kwak Ren....best of luck w/ selling it.

Not that much I reckon....especially since the train tracks have been there since before 1890 when Elgin actually became a town. The Excursion train only goes up to Minam which isn't quite halfway to Joseph...the rest of the track is used by a company that runs recumbant rail cars that you peddle w/ urethane wheels-- like a skateboard.

I can hear Pete now: ...."Indian P.O.S.!"

Our little town's Mayor paid us a visit recently....he's a peach of a human....VERY busy with running a construction company & all the civic duties that being the Mayor brings. He was quite interested in my Ebike, as he's heading up a project that's building a 63 mile long bike trail that follows a minimally used train track over to Joseph. I've rode this trail to it's current termination point a coupla times....it's quite picturesque & NO cage traffic! It takes off just north of the train station & follows the Grand Ronde river for a bit....which you can see has turned into a trickle with the heat wave we've experienced this summer.... The trail doesn't go very far as of yet, as our Mayor tells it....due mainly to butting heads with land owners along the rail's path. A Town Hall meeting recently showed quite a bit of support for proceeding with this project though.... Really looking forward to seeing this trail get completed to @ least Looking Glass creek....it's beautiful up that way! Mr. Mayor also noted that the trail is wide enough to accommodate the Mrs. new trike that I'm fine-tuning.... So....More Ride Report adventures yet to come....

Sounds like she got a taste of what it's like to be a REAL biker....a bit of a reality check if you will. A cold backside is just the tip of the iceberg... Oh the fun to be had riding in the elements though....
