Tried to pull the truck outta the carport this morning to finish filling the bed up w/ yard debris....battery was completely flat....put a meter on it to see how bad it was...Flat 00.0- dead as a door nail. Drove down to La Grande & scored a battery @ WalMart for $140...finished loading yard debris to take to the dump tomorrow morning. Tonight is date night....Tequila is on the agenda. Definitely Riding on Saturday...probably farther out on Clark Creek.

Thats a damn good question!...lol At 1st I thought it might be a Life-Flight helicopter....but then it could be just a fly on the Google camera....lol That's a hill heading south outta Elgin that I drive @ least twice a week....it's known as "Hamburger Hill"...for the deer that like to cross near the top....seen a coupla close calls before as some folks (myself included) get going up to 70 mph to get by the Trucks...hence the passing lane.

All the Liberal JackAss' that have moved to the west side from every other state in the country....bunch of brainwashed idiots that can't think for themselves & believe every lie our F'd up government feeds 'em.

280 miles....these days I'm only interested in anything east from here. I'm absolutely done with the west side! Pretty sure that OR alone is about the same size as the UK.

Zoom out & keep heading east....it just keeps getting better...all the way to Montana.

In 2016, a good friend of mine took me with him on his vacation to the NE corner of OR...I fell in love with the place! My property taxes going through the roof in Portland...So I spent the next 2 yrs. hunting down an affordable residence on the east side of the state. When we decided to sell, I went & bought a $5 For Sale sign....put it up in the front yard....5 minutes later, the next door neighbor came over asking if we'd take down the sign & they came over the next day w/ their realtor & we sold it for enough dosh to pay it off....buy this place here in Elgin....pay it off...& still have enough stash to pay the property taxes here, which were 1/3rd of what I was paying in Portland. Smartest thing I've ever done....love it here more everyday! Besides, the whole left side of OR has turned into an absolute over-populated Sh*tHole...especially the Portland area. Night & Day difference to where I live now.

After recharging the battery, decided to have another go up Clark Cr. rd this morning. It was great to find that the road got a lot closer to the creek as I went along. The weather was just about perfect....& I knew we were due for a bit of rain tomorrow, so I'm glad I chose today for this exploration. As I was looking for photo op's, I passed through a coupla farms where there was cattle in fenced fields on both sides of the road....& of course there was a few strays that were feeding on vegetation on the edge of the road....didn't stop for them, but they were sure checking this oddball dude passing by on 2-wheels....lol I was feeling pretty stoked & blessed, the farther I went, that I picked such a beautiful place to move to almost 5 yrs. ago now. I ended up riding about 6+ miles out before my lame-ass feet started giving me some grief....(MRSA is such a Bitch)....so a return ensued. After all, I still had the never-ending yard work & back yard to mow before the liquid sunshine shows up. Did almost 15 miles & felt pretty good overall.

School zones are marked 20 mph here....plus there's a radar trailer parked right in front of the school....fortunately, its facing in the opposite direction as I was going. Got it up to 26 mph in about 100 yards... its a rush on a mtn. bike, but not something I regularly do.
-
About the only noise you'll hear where I live is this mill that has sustained the town of Elgin for many years.... owned by Boise Cascade. Being the hooligan that I sometimes can be, I ripped through a school zone @ 26 mph on the way back home this morning....

Sounds like a coupla desperate construction workers on payday....

Well, @ least it wasn't as bad as some.... the infamous "I threw my back out when I farted"...

Armed Forces Bikers (Kernow Crew) Ride out

Kool report Saul.... that Thruxton is a sweetie! -
Nice report Pete!.... way better to have those H2O levels up than down.
-
TBH....those new shocks & that front wheel outta make your hog look much better & Ride every bit as well.
-
Absolute cloudless sky the last 2 mornings....70f today....another Ride in the forecast.
-
I don't....using the front brake only....just like on the Mongoose. Gotta get the lead outta my arse & hunt down a linked brake system, which I seem to recall seeing on Cyberbike's site. Shifting is also somewhat cumbersome w/ the stock paddles on the RH side....usually just ride around in 9th or 10th gear....the throttle evens the score. Boils down to the fact that I've got material for @ least 3 projects that I could do workshop reports on....been too occupied w/ blasted yardwork & Riding!
-
Beautiful weather today....decided to ride BEFORE I handled some more yard work Rolled past the Cemetery rd. onto Clark creek rd. for a few miles.... it's a shame the road doesn't get too close to the creek, mainly cos it's fenced off due to mainly it being some farmer's property. I've learned that keeping it in PA level 1 or 2 conserves on battery life while still maintaining a consistent 15 mph w/o too much effort. I didn't quite make it to where it gets a bit steeper & climbs away from the creek more for better views....that'll be for another ride when I have more time & battery life. All in all, a good ride for some exercise in this glorious weather...away from all the BS I used to have to put up with on the left side of OR! Now to race home for a bit more yard work before the Mrs. & I cooled off @ the local watering hole only 3 blocks from home.

Gonna try out a deer trail that I cleared on the north hillside of my property....an alternate route that ends right outside the kitchen door. & Friday is date night w/ the misses.... so there will be shooting of Tequila involved.
-
Only make that Hardley's have anything over on, is Hoover..... coz they can carry (2) dirtbags!
-
Just finished some awesome Tacos that the misses put together... really makes me realize how crappy my diet was for 3 decades! NOT anymore!
