I remember the Tralp & your Beemers...but always like the XR personally... -
Gotta drive to Richland WA on Monday... to order a new threaded collar for my arm....hook is loose as a goose & about to fall out. Then I'll probably be traveling to Portland area on Tuesday to visit w/ some old friends, see my grandson who was just in a head-on collision on New Years day....& then help another old friend finally move outta Portland to John Day OR...so I'll be racking up around 1k miles by next Friday. Spending today putting away Christmas decorations & getting another Ride in...

Damn straight....during that 4 day ride, I didn't stay @ any hotel or motel either....just stuffed my sleeping bag in right behind the headlight..no need for a bunjie cord. Amazing how much weather it could keep off ya as well.

I too, had a coupla Honda's....'93 XR 80 w/ a mid 80's motor. It was originally a 9th birthday present to my oldest grandson...& was an absolute blast to ride in the snow. After many years of riding & fiddling, I completely rebuilt it...brand new top-end...cam, valves, springs, piston, rings...Barnett dirt-digger clutch...wrapped & sprayed exhaust w/ aftermarket alum can. He's now 27 y/o & came last Memorial day from NM to collect it along w/ my XT 600 Sumo. The other Honda I owned was an '83 VF 750 Sabre. The motor was quite smooth w/ a broad powerband...but doing carb work on it was a bit of a bitch...ONLY complaint I have of it. I did my longest ride on it back in 2011, when I rode down to Parker AZ & back in 98 hrs.....2500 miles in just over 4 days.

You guys (@Six30) included....have been the banter I've been looking 4ward to everyday...the way Pete woulda wanted it. BIG Thanks to ALL of you for putting up w/ me & my disabled experiences in the 2-Wheel realm. DieHard 2-Wheeler till I die!! Actually snowed last night....just a dusting...most of it melted off, but it stayed around freezing temps most of the day. I did get a ride in, though it was brutal on my left hand. Gotta dig out my neoprene fishing glove from the LH glove stash I have in the garage. Rode towards the north end of town to see if I get some better views.... Happiest of New Years to everyone!

Nice lid Eric...hard to go wrong w/ an Arai.

Obviously, the TOTY is running this show....

I'd much rather have that than a flippin' GS!....Triples make such a cool exhaust note....especially w/ an aftermarket pipe.

Mild one for the Mrs. & I as well.... definitely will have to be comforter for my dog if any fireworks start up...she has gotten way more nervous as she's aged. Plus side is we've got 2 more bottles of good Tequila that were Christmas presents from my sister-in-law....so not all is lost.

Rainy today, but mostly just drizzly off/on.... taken from my driveway, looks like Mt Harris got a little bit of frosting near the top.... Still continuing my quest of riding EVERYday though....5 in a row so far...
-
Just needs a Zrex motor & it could be Most Bitchin'....
-
It's what's remaining of my right FOOT....my nose is nowhere near that big!
-
Don't give a sh*t about the Rule Nazi's pic regulations, If Bob's gonna post up the badass Vespa....then here's my contribution...just for the hell of it...

It's a different story when you a hot tub in your bedroom like I did. But if I ever get another one....it'll definitely be a salt-water tub...NO mucking about with the stupid expensive chemicals to keep the PH levels up to par...the salt does all that for you. I would sleep like a baby after a 15 min. soak before bedtime...twas grand.

EXACTLY the reason I dislike Engineers....I learned their ways a long time ago, when you have to have a PHD in hieroglyphics just to read the engineer's mark-ups that he's done with a damn crayon. Maybe that's where @Six30 honed his brilliant artwork?

38F here this morning.....rained like hell last night & tbh we need it....been pretty dry overall for the last 3 months. Had alot more snow last year at this time. Weather this morning turned out quite nice, so I got out for nice sprint on the Mullet...glad I did as it clouded up again this afternoon.... Clark creek was definitely flowing good again after last night's wetness from the sky... The ground also felt softer...& the washboard ripples that were there out on the road from summer's traffic...not very many at all, which made for a much smoother ride overall....& just a bit more mucky from the various puddles along the road...(Pete would have been looking for his Prozac about now) lol On the way back...I was able to maintain 20 mph for just over 3 miles..so my tired old legs were definitely feelin' it-- Totally committed to Riding EVERYday No matter what!

That check would cost more than the amount....it'll probably be made of rubber anyway.

Got a 3 hr. drive tomorrow over to the Treasure valley area in ID....mainly for my wife's birthday on Saturday. Visiting her sister as her birthday is the following Saturday. It should be pretty fun....she & her sis are gonna make lefse & teach her kids how to do it...pass that Norwegian tradition onto the next generation. We had a good time last year as we partied out in their garage for this annual Birthday/Christmas celebration....had some great laughs along the way. Already got the sooo smooth good stuff on ice & ready for partaking.
