Only had 2 "Cruisers" in the past.... 1st was an '83 XJ 750 Maxim....was great in a straight line, but a handful in the twisties due to the screwy front end geometry. Seriously reliable though...rode it in 13F & snowing before...did surprisingly well because of the rearward weight distribution. Went on a coupla group rides w/ some Harley buddies & kept up with no problem. This beast would do a smokeshow from Hell...don't ask how I know. Then when it came time to sell it....some rat bastard nicked it! 2nd was this Kymco Venox 250...Taiwanese made but pretty sure motor was built by Honda....liquid cooled, 90 deg V-twin w/ Keihin carbs...low, pretty comfortable & economical- 62mpg regularly. Sketchy tires though...I came home from the upper Clackamas river the last time I rode it....went into a LH sweeper doing about 40 mph, the next thing I saw was some guy leaning over me telling me not to move & a LifeFlight helicopter was on it's way. Apparently the rear wheel stepped out & the caught...highsided me & I landed on my right shoulder & neck....damn near killed me. Still feeling the effects of that to this day. This pic was from that ride before I started back home.... A year later is when MRSA damn near killed me... absolutely blessed to still be here. My MetalFab mate that I've been drafting for...for 20 yrs...is Harley guy. At 1 point he had a '96 Buell S1 Lightning...that was my 1st ride on a Hardley power'd bike...140 hp w/ a V&H pipe, in a 53" wheelbase chassis...as short as my RD 400F. It was like riding a 2-Wheeled BigBlock Vette....handled well with great brakes. Later on, he built this chop w/ an 80" motor & a RevTech 6-speed gearbox. The only real parts that were Harley was the motor & the frame down tubes...He fabbed up the rest himself...even had it blue-tagged as a production vehicle. It rode pretty nice...especially with that gearbox...

13F again this morning...w/ a bit frozen fog...reminds me of a few times I slid around in similar condition on my Seca 550 back in the day. It cleared off nicely with plenty of blue sky...so I managed to get the Mullet out for a spin again. I checked out the Trail by the Rail to see if any more progress has been made on it....as they have received another grant towards the completion of it....but no joy yet, but it's always fun to blast down it on the eBike.... So since I had the camera with me, I got a pic of this straight old mid 60's GMC short-wide....I've had 2 of these in the past, but the short-wides are not too common. Blasted camera has some kind of muck on the lens that only shows up when the light is just right...

Not a damn thing wrong with that @Clive....no matter what @Six30 try's to sell you....

What a sweetie Phil....beautiful blue eyes she has. Teaching her how to 2-Wheel is just as important as teeth brushing....if she shows that interest.

Definitely know what you mean there Bob.... I think it boils down to some wacked out nerve endings. Always drives me crazy when I feel my fingers & wrist inside my prosthetic arm....wrist twisting the throttle & fingers grabbing the brake....all from muscle memory. Gotta hunt down my neoprene fishing glove for my LH.

Woke up to 13F this morning...but crispy clear outside. Did manage to get a Ride in though....until I couldn't feel my left hand anymore. Dang amputations take 4ever to warm back up! Thawing it out now in front of the pellet stove...& about to enjoy a nice cuppa tea w/ the missus.

18F here this morning.... just sent some files to be put on our church's website....got trash/recycling detail to do today....as well as dig out the Christmas decorations for the missus. NO doubt I'll also be getting a Ride in....gonna be in the 40'sF all week w/ no precip.

Only reason I keep a small hair dryer around...is to remove unwanted decals...Period.

Prolly trying to catch up w/ his mates down at the pub... no time to put the gloves on....

Damn straight! I've designed plenty of those over the years.... Seen people just forgo the house & live in 'em. 1 big toy box w/ plenty of room for living quarters. I know a guy who has a mezzanine deck in his, big enough to accommodate a kitchen & even a billiard table....

I was thinking the same thing....the fog pics are brilliant. I used to love riding in the fog...the bike always seemed to run quite well in it.

What a cool story & memorable experience Eric....I know it'd be one I'd never forget.

25F this morning....Got a sheet metal layout to do for the last job I just drew....then it's out for ride! I love Fridays....always been great for me. The usual Tequila shooting will commence tonight w/ the Missus....she is such a wizard in the kitchen...been eating like a king for almost 3 yrs. now.... that girl!

For the infamous "Mr. DirtBike"....for he has crossed over to the other side. The 2-Wheel world will sorely miss the presence of Malcolm Smith....absolute Icon in the motorcycle industry. He passed away on the 26th @ the ripe old age of 83....RIP to the guy that influenced sooo many riders.

Nothin' new.... typical from the Bavarian Motorized Wankers...

Just finished a shop drawing for a fountain liner for my MetalFab mate....a nice change compared to the usual hand rails & stair cases. That makes 5 jobs I've done for him this year....not a lot but it helps pay for the whisky.

That sounds like something Pete would do....
