  3. After having 2 of my bikes ripped off right outta my driveway before....I couldn't agree more! DEATH to all bike thieves
  4. Amazing how much that looks like the southern edge of WA state....looking across the Columbia river from the OR side...along I-84. Drove it plenty of times. How long will this excursion last this time?
  5. '69 Chrysler Newport.... my Grandpa had 1, but his was a convertible. It was the 1st car I ever drove....@ the ripe old age of 13. He also pulled a 30ft. Airstream travel trailer with it. Definitely a bonafied ROAD-Yacht @ 19ft. long!
  6. Sweet Kwak Ren....best of luck w/ selling it.
  7. Not that much I reckon....especially since the train tracks have been there since before 1890 when Elgin actually became a town. The Excursion train only goes up to Minam which isn't quite halfway to Joseph...the rest of the track is used by a company that runs recumbant rail cars that you peddle w/ urethane wheels-- like a skateboard.
  8. I can hear Pete now: ...."Indian P.O.S.!"
  9. Our little town's Mayor paid us a visit recently....he's a peach of a human....VERY busy with running a construction company & all the civic duties that being the Mayor brings. He was quite interested in my Ebike, as he's heading up a project that's building a 63 mile long bike trail that follows a minimally used train track over to Joseph. I've rode this trail to it's current termination point a coupla times....it's quite picturesque & NO cage traffic! It takes off just north of the train station & follows the Grand Ronde river for a bit....which you can see has turned into a trickle with the heat wave we've experienced this summer.... The trail doesn't go very far as of yet, as our Mayor tells it....due mainly to butting heads with land owners along the rail's path. A Town Hall meeting recently showed quite a bit of support for proceeding with this project though.... Really looking forward to seeing this trail get completed to @ least Looking Glass creek....it's beautiful up that way! Mr. Mayor also noted that the trail is wide enough to accommodate the Mrs. new trike that I'm fine-tuning.... So....More Ride Report adventures yet to come....
  10. Have ALWAYS loved reading the writings of Mr. Cameron....has an impeccable knack for descriptions.....Learned a ton from this guy.
  11. Woke up to Thunder & Lightning this morning....the rain that ensued is quite refreshing though. Gonna be 1 of those days to get "inside" stuff done.

Sounds like she got a taste of what it's like to be a REAL biker....a bit of a reality check if you will. A cold backside is just the tip of the iceberg... Oh the fun to be had riding in the elements though....
  14. Nice views of the Northside of the shire of Wilt....
  15. Drove to Baker City last night to enjoy a meal w/ my brother who is temporarily stationed there by the Forest Circus for fire duty. I was doing the math in my head on the way there....it's been @ least 7-8 yrs. since I've seen him face to face. Now I'm kinda forming a plan to go visit him down in Waco, TX....maybe sometime next year.
  16. It'll be interesting to see how much this beast weighs....
  17. Indeed I have..... just something about the feel of a spanner in your hand--
  18. I'm right there with ya Bob.... had more fun on those types of bikes! Had a V4, & (4) IL4's, a Vtwin & a handful of singles both 2T & 4T....never had a triple, but I love the exhaust note they put out....
