  1. Managed to get a Ride in, since the weather is cooperating @ the moment...a nice mix of clouds & sun... Trying to make a serious effort EVERYday to put some seat-time in on the Mullet....sure helps to work out the kinks from a slough of old injuries this abbreviated old body is feeling... I ran the battery flat on the way back....sure can feel that extra 25lbs. when the motor shuts down...peddled back in PA level 1 till I got to the bottom of my steep driveway where I turned it back up to level 5 so I could make it to the top....just barely.
  2. Wouldn't surprise me.... I always remember the wheelying DT 125 saga....where he broke his nose...
  3. Shot some whiskey w/ the Mrs. last night for a change....woke up to 38F & windy this morning. We had a fair amount of snow this time last year...been unusually dry so far this year. Headed to Birthday party for a 79 y/o friend for lunch today...
  4. 1st thing I'd do after bringing home a new Bike....ONLY reason I have a hair dryer anymore...
  5. Now who sounds like he's been taken over by Pete?....
  6. Beer Goggles can be sooo deceptive though.... one usually doesn't figure that out until the next morning...
  7. Pretty cool shop.... I'm sure those customs have a custom price tag as well...
  8. Nice shed there @Saul....liking the skylights @ the peak of the roof. Best part, it won't rust.
  9. Seems like @Pedro missed his que as the grammar police....Marcel was the No.1 violator. I guess we just have to consider the source.
  10. Spending a chilly day converting mp3 files to mp4 format for our church website & youtube account....while I wait hopefully for the sun to burn some more holes in the clouds. Got to still adjust the shifter cable on the Mrs's Trike...then maybe have a spin on the Mullet later...
  11. Interesting-- knowing KTM's financial situation.... Kinda like the looks of the SMC version though....
  12. Oh Hell No!! I gave away my last 2 Bikes & you guys still put up w/ my sh*t! It really boils down to 1 thing we all have in common...2-WHEELS & the experiences that go along with them. Besides, the banter that also comes with it, is something that (@ least I) look forward to everyday in this Bass-Akward world we now live in.
  13. WithOut a doubt! @XTreme gets my nomination as well. Really miss him flickin' shit to all of us everyday....We wouldn't be here w/o ya mate. RIP Pete.
  14. & I thought that was just standard equipment of a Triumph....
  15. Kinda what I was thinking....probably depends IF she has a frying pan or rolling pin in her hand @ the time...
  16. Ian has done a grand job of keeping this place alive...Pete would be proud. And definitely a Hats Off to Bob & Pedro as well....you guys are great!
  17. After a week of decent weather here, we're due for some precip tomorrow....possibly some snow on Sunday. It'll be a nice change after the frozen fog & temps in the teens F for the last 4 days. Finally got the led outta my arse & got the Mrs. on her new Trike I bought for her...I got a kick outta listening to her giggle as she did some laps in the back yard today ...that alone was worth every penny I spent on it... And the normally scheduled Friday night Tequila shooting will commence soon...
  18. A slight adjustment in Tone makes all the difference....
  19. We had a bout of that about a week & a half ago...the same storm that put over 600,000 residents w/o power up in Seattle...& created those King tides along the coast. So glad I live on the east side of OR now. No issues with my wheelie bin as it's parked in the carport against my boat.
  20. On the Tourer side of this topic...I also did enjoy running in group rides with other bigger bikes with my '83 VF 750 Sabre. Helluva smooth running motor...it would spin to 10k rpms but at 6k it was just Electric smooth. I did my longest 2-wheel'd adventure on this beast....did 2500 miles in 98 hrs. down to Parker AZ & back...it never missed a beat. At 1 point during that ride, I held it at 120 mph for 20 mins. straight through the NV desert. Can't say enough good things about the Corbin seat either....
  21. Tend to agree. That would make a great Fire road bike....& I also like the Street Moto version as well.
  22. Not my choice of paint either....but it was pretty cool to ride...especially with that RevTech gearbox that shifted like sportbike.
  23. Too damn heavy for too much dosh....after all, I'm just a lowly CAD jockey w/ an expensive wife at the time. Just make sure it's not shod with sketchy tires is my lesson learned.
  24. Only had 2 "Cruisers" in the past.... 1st was an '83 XJ 750 Maxim....was great in a straight line, but a handful in the twisties due to the screwy front end geometry. Seriously reliable though...rode it in 13F & snowing before...did surprisingly well because of the rearward weight distribution. Went on a coupla group rides w/ some Harley buddies & kept up with no problem. This beast would do a smokeshow from Hell...don't ask how I know. Then when it came time to sell it....some rat bastard nicked it! 2nd was this Kymco Venox 250...Taiwanese made but pretty sure motor was built by Honda....liquid cooled, 90 deg V-twin w/ Keihin carbs...low, pretty comfortable & economical- 62mpg regularly. Sketchy tires though...I came home from the upper Clackamas river the last time I rode it....went into a LH sweeper doing about 40 mph, the next thing I saw was some guy leaning over me telling me not to move & a LifeFlight helicopter was on it's way. Apparently the rear wheel stepped out & the caught...highsided me & I landed on my right shoulder & neck....damn near killed me. Still feeling the effects of that to this day. This pic was from that ride before I started back home.... A year later is when MRSA damn near killed me... absolutely blessed to still be here. My MetalFab mate that I've been drafting for...for 20 yrs...is Harley guy. At 1 point he had a '96 Buell S1 Lightning...that was my 1st ride on a Hardley power'd bike...140 hp w/ a V&H pipe, in a 53" wheelbase chassis...as short as my RD 400F. It was like riding a 2-Wheeled BigBlock Vette....handled well with great brakes. Later on, he built this chop w/ an 80" motor & a RevTech 6-speed gearbox. The only real parts that were Harley was the motor & the frame down tubes...He fabbed up the rest himself...even had it blue-tagged as a production vehicle. It rode pretty nice...especially with that gearbox...
