I rode to work on Friday, it was a bit cold. Stayed at my mates Friday night and rode to the seaside today. Frinton, home of the retired UK pensioner and it seems their dogs. I have never seen so many people walking dogs in one place. Walking up the only high street in the area (shops not allowed on the sea front), I bumped into a friend I hadn't seen since about 1984, we recognised each other straight away. Taken me forever to figure out a simple hypotenuse calculator, yeay yeah I know Pythagoras theorum but on surveys I'm not able to measure the upright length just the width from the ground and the angle in degrees of the roof by placing my digital spirit level on a rafter My first spreadsheet formula was flawed and I was buggered if I could figure out the issue hypotenuse = width/cos(angle), eventually I realised that spreadsheets need radians not angles in degrees, then it hit me after and hour or two of playing with the functions "DEGREES" and "COS" etc that maybe there's a RADIANS function, and there is, formula is now hypotenuse = Width/COS(RADIANS(angle)) et viola, it works Now to scrub all the chalk markings off the living room wall before the Mrs see's them

I started with the unmarked bottle which i think is home made wine it tastes like port and i think it would have done a better job of stripping the varnish i was removing earlier so i moved onto the Merlyn which is a Cream Liqueur made by Penderyn distillery up the road from me. still bloody orrible though lol

I've had this conversation with myself about 100 times in the last six months , do I replace my CRF250 Rally with the 300 version, in the end i've decided to keep the 250 . There are two main reasons for this ; the first is build quality. I have two mates who have bought 300's and they've both been disapointed with the quality, whereas my 250 is 5 years old now and has been ridden in all sorts of shit and muck and is looking better than their 6-9 month old bikes. The second reason is that hardly any of the parts are interchangable between bikes which means I'd have to spend a lot to make a 300 trail worthy as I couldn't just use parts off the 250. The 250 is by no means the fastest bike in the world but it puts the power down where you need it on a trail so I can live with the slower progress on the road.

You are right about the 250 and 400 sharing the same chassis and the 125 and 175. From what I remember the DT175 MX was much better off road than the TS185 but the Suzuki was the better road bike. I rode a long distance trial in 1982 on my brand new TS250ER , I was still running it in at the time. My mate was gutted as I beat him on his DT175MX, he lost nearly twice as many points as me

I have had the same conversation with myself about a DT175MX and a TS185ER , I would love one of either but doubt I would ride them much. I quite fancy a CRF300, but doubt I would use that much, yes I would have a play but just haven't got the time to make the best of something like that.

Quick Aux belt to fit on a mates van and off to my older sons to fit some skirting and cornice. Also a couple of wall boards and shelving. Think I'm gonna be there for a while. Yesterday I was playing with a friends dr125dx. Sent the barrels for a rebore a week or so ago and they're now back on. Can get it to fire with a little fuel down the plug holes but nothing coming through the carbs so this sager will continue at a later date.

Got my Honda today, popped into see a mate on the way home and parked next to his unridden one. He has all the farkles and all the shine but not one mile on it yet. Nice though. Very pleased with my bike though, just gotta get a few miles on it now.

Well today is the wife's 61st Birthday and our 36th Wedding Anniversary. Funnily enough 3 days ago would have been the 47th Anniversary of my marriage to her predecessor!

There were new owners from the original people at Y Giler Arms last year but still happy to take us all in, it's a good laugh no music just good old drunken pub banter

My mate had the DT250 , it wasn't as good as the 175. I had a XT500 enduro , it was a heavy lump, great engine but not great 6v electrics . Worth crazy money now .
