Exactly! There's a strict flouncing protocol that has to be observed......leaving without following this protocol is just "buggering off", AWOL.....etc!5 points
-
You dint announce your flounce ahead of time, you dint post you wouldnt want to be apart of a forum that would have you as a member, stamp your cyber twinkle toes and storm off, stage left. Next time get it right...lol5 points

you've misread him , Pete knows when something's not right, he just doesn't know how to do anything about it3 points

And to think I was going to vote for you which would have taken it into extra time the kind of excitement this place needs. Next time i'll just go with my gut instinct and vote for Tym3 points

Taking the Himalayan for its first MOT Saturday. Got the Bandit booked in for a full service plus MOT ahead of doing LEJOG, theyre going to stick a dual USB charging point on there and a gear indicator because its so smooth in 5th you could easily be in 4th or 6th and I’ve had enough of it. I was certain it would become clear after Id been riding it a while, its bloody obvious on the other bikes but its just not on this one. Someone I consider to be a good rider said they found the same with their Bandit and ended up fitting one too so I’m not alone in finding it irritating. Love doing stuff to or having stuff done on my bike. Getting something for your bike is the best prezzie in the world, IMO nothing else even comes close3 points

My buddy started and owned a Duc forum and Vertical Scope bought it from him and killed it off in about a year. Was thriving forum and went straight to the shitter really fast. Both @DesmoDog and I were Moderators (probably had something to do with it';s demise) and it was a decent forum for awhile. He got around $20K from Vertical Scope for it - not sure if that's a lot or not.3 points

A company by the name of Vertical Scope! These are just the ones that show up on Google.....there's page after page of them! Amongst their acquisitions are a lot of motorcycle and automotive sites......and every forum looks exactly the same! Like THIS in fact! Vertical Scope buy them up, then bump up membership prices and plaster the place in Ads. Total domination of the market! Of course, the independents have always had paid memberships and Ads as well! And I do understand the reasoning for this! However, I will point out that all the forums I've done since 2002 have always been free and never had Ads. Yet the strange thing is that the site owners who receive revenue get worshipped as Forum Gods, but when I give people something for nothing, there are some who are still not happy. But what do I know? I'm just an Internet troublemaker after all. What can we learn from this @Tym?2 points

it'll tell you in your bike manual what the manufacturers recommendations are for chain maintenance. Triumph says to Lube evey 300km for mine but I don't do that. To be honest I just look at it periodically, if it looks a bit dry I'll lube it, or if I've been on a long run in bad weather. I can tell by the feel of the gearchange and general vibrations, as well as ( on this bike) throttle snatch, if it needs tensioning a bit and am learning to detect when it needs a lube. some bikes are more sensitive to it than others. Frequency will depend almost entirely on usage and conditions.2 points

One of my old bosses used to say "if it costs nothing it has no value" , although this was in the context of giving customers something for nothing, which the sales guys liked doing....frequently!2 points

Oh yeh.....big dosh! There was never any hope of me selling any of mine......one look at the clientele would have been enough for them!2 points

They played at the Bristol bike show but the weather in the night was bad so i just stayed in the beer tent getting pissed. didn't even go out for the wet T shirt competition so it must have been bad. It was the same weekend as Glastonbury so me and my mate rode down there in the day and climbed over the fence for a mooch about as you could back then1 point

Rather you than me. Much as I loved every minute of my 125, it wasn't safe on main highways cos it couldn't keep up with traffic most of the time and , lets face it, I'm not built for a 125 Having said that I know people who rave about them so you might like it. You're also a wee bit lighter than I am ( a wee bit ) so it might struggle less hauling you around1 point
