Catteeclan
More flurries here. Don't know what the temp was today but it was difficult to keep the hands working. Headlight level switch had stopped working on a Astra H. After replacing the missing fuse one burst into life. Thinking it was a duff motor I plugged in the good headlight into the not working side and still nothing. Hands were getting cold now as the bumper has to come off to get the lights out. Turns out somewhere in the loom 2 wires were open circuit so I chased the wires from the good to bad side and alls well. Hands bloody freezing by then.

Buckster
I got my new headlights from Germany today, Mercedes in their wisdom and for some reason after market manufacturers don’t make right hand drive headlights for my car anymore. The headlight shell on one side is cracked and the lenses are both clouded and have been polished to many times now. I took a chance on aftermarket lhd headlights as they looked like a direct copy, with the plan of putting the rhd low beam reflectors in from my existing lights. Thankfully I was right so after a little bit of work I will have new headlights.
Nute
You are lucky you can get them apart, lots seem to come as sealed units now.
Nute
I was welding a fixing to the frame of my K100 to increase the height of the front of the tank a bit and thought it smelled odd as I was welding, turns out I picked up a brass filler rod by mistake so its now brazed rather than welded. Can't be arsed to cut it off and start again ... seems secure so I'll go with it 3

A relay from Daelim costs £35 + P&P, So i ordered a relay from Aliexpress at a cost of £2..50p + £2..50p -P&P, it works fine, and being the same size (small) it fits perfectly in the relay holder. Iam getting our spare room ready for the scoot to spend till March in there. I just couldn’t go back to hibernating. Honestly mate, I feel your pain.

I’m missing getting out on my old Mtb, the sciatica is just too bad to be cycling at the moment. Been like it for a couple of months. Ironically, riding the scoot or motorbike is fine but driving the car is challenging to keep depressing the clutch. My missus thinks it’s just an excuse to use two wheels everywhere I go.

I should have taken take my father in laws advice that he gave me in 1980........"Buy a one way ticket out of the UK!". I may have ended up somewhere that has mild winters... 1

Yep……for me the worst part is either sitting down or getting up, it’s impossible without sharp pains shooting through my arse, thigh and knee…….oh and ending up in my shin. Cunting cunt.

Saul
Been out playing around with the Sprint today painting stuff. Also experimented with the bolts for the exhaust by quenching them. Heating them to just turn cherry red and dropping them in used engine oil. They look okay. It will be interesting to see if they are resistant to rust.
