That was a short walk Bob probably 20 minutes down to it but its a steep gravel covered path on the way down and after that there's some steep wooden steps on the other side which aren't too bad really coming back up the hill had me stopping to rest on every tree i'm just not fit at all LOL 2

Tango
Cycled down to the beach today. Only the one photo though. The headwind on the way back was brutal!

boboneleg
Nothing worse than a headwind when your cycling, even going uphill is better than that.

boboneleg
As it was a cracking day today so we drove to another part of the river, much nearer to Bath than Bristol. It was great walk and we saw loads of wildlife, butterflies, dragon and damsel flies. Two herons and then just caught sight of a kingfisher flying under the old railway bridge, first one i've seen for years.
boboneleg
Just gone for a local walk around the roads as down by the river will be muddy with all the rain we’ve had. We came across this old graveyard which happens to have a brand new nursing home built behind it

boboneleg
Paolo and I had a walk around Bristol centre and the waterfront today. The sky was beautiful and no rain (apart from the bit near @Slowlycatchymonkey ) The Hatchet Inn, reputedly the oldest Inn in Bristol............. The Council House, where they manage to spend money on useless shite day after day after day................ We are twinned with Porto ........... The central library............. Bristol cathedral............. There's even a statue of @Buckster 3
boboneleg
And down to the waterfront.............. This storming great thing is so big it even has it's own mini-copter............ Then we went for some lunch and had the shittiest Foccacia I've ever eaten........... Paolo had some birthday money to spend so we popped off to the shops before getting the bus back home................. 5
XTreme
1 hour ago, boboneleg said: he Hatchet Inn, reputedly the oldest Inn in Bristol............. I know it well! Wandered in there on my own in Summer 1971 and it was full of hookers and Skins......then this guy staggered across the room with his head split open. Very intimidating place with guys trying to stare you out! I was just gone 17 and it was my first time out of Swansea. Anyway, a full crew of us from Swansea, Gorseinon, and Bont (around 30 in total which included a couple of total psychos) went back there about a year later on bikes, and in cars and vans! Plus, I'm fairly sure that my mate Whippet from Clase had his sawn off in his old Hillman Minx cos he always carried it round for protection from Skins. Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding we got banned from there within 15 minutes (and the Police got called) cos one of the psychos completely destroyed a metal serving tray by repeatedly hitting himself over the head with it while singing "Mule Train". Why he chose "Mule Train" I have no idea! I told him "Whole Lotta Love" would have been a much better choice! He eventually got put down for Grave Robbing (don't ask me) and one of the other ones there got life for Murder a couple of years later. I'd estimate half of them never made it into the 80's for various reasons. Over 50 years later I could well be the only one left standing! Good days......simple pleasures back then!
