Dip beam stopped working after the bike was out in the rain for 3 days. On inspection I found the clutch side switchgear was full of water I suspect was because the bike was on the side stand. I check the fuse and the power was going into and out of the headlight relay so thought the switch was ruined. So I got a replacement from EBay. Guess what it wasn’t that . It was corrosion between the headlight loom and the bikes loom. So put new connections in the headlight loom and all is good now. Pain the the arse but fixed now. Anyway now it’s all apart I thought it was time to deal with the faded black plastic face of the bike and dial surrounds. I tried the blow lamp trick but wasn’t happy with the results so got the Matt satin black out. Waiting for it to dry now.

I cannot argue with that ... but I like it Its this thing ... I could totally get rid of it if I bought a set of 16v throttle bodies plus the 16v fuel injection unit ... but I have to do everything the hard way. Looks better from the other side.

cutting a new hole and moving the door in your shed sounds like a project.

Just gotta wait for it to dry properly now and can put the bike back together. I have really missed it being out of action in bits. Not gonna win any prizes but is much tidier than it was. I used the same paint I did to do my mirrors backalong so should all blend in once cured.

Mrs. Hook's birthday is on the 21st, but she's having a knee replacement on the 17th...so I'm glad I got that task completed today. We usually make a trip over to her sister's place in ID for a birthday/Christmas bash visit...but that's been postponed to sometime in January.

Space has been my problem really, The shed I am using now was almost derelict in the garden, my garden is pretty big. I reroofed it and did a few bits but it still does need work to make it properly secure, I will do it. I also have a knackered old summer house in the garden but it is rotten, I would like to knock that down and build a specific workshop but the cost of materials is mental now. I reckon to build the workshop I want would be around £2K which irks me really. I suppose I should stop whining and just do it, I know I would love the work. Problem is I support a household of 6 adults including me and I don't have the spare cash, not moaning about that either but that is just the way it is. Post heart attack I only work part time as well. I am with you though Clive it's the fettling and learning new stuff that I enjoy. I like fixing stuff and making it good. Suppose it reminds me of growing up when that was the only option as I couldn't buy new or pay techs to do it for me. Dry now waiting for money for some feather edge or shiplap.

It's not a mechanically beautiful bike anyway, to put it gently, so might as well show that off. If you can hide it, hide it. If you can't hide it, exaggerate it

Deleting it is a pain because you then need to have the fuel management reprogrammed and even then they tend to run like crap, you can service the unit though if it gives problems.

The shed would need rotating, so I would need another 3 burley guys to help with that......... The floor of the shed would need taking out 1st, then the matter of putting the door onto what was the side of the shed, easier said than done, so not worth the aggravation.

As I have said before, I ordered a 8x10ft shed, but I received (unknown to me at the time) 10x8ft shed.... which is not long enough, to get the scoot in straight....bugger. I did for the most part enjoy working on the Tiger (apart from those damn carbs. ) but in all honesty it was a bit too much for my facilities and tools, i would never consider such a project nowdays....as said, just something to tinker with. A guy near to me was selling a WK125cc (sort of sports looking thing) running (rough) for £150, but spares are unobtainable for this bike, so not worth the effort....... So I will make do with running a oily rag over the scoot every now and then.........

Your doing a good job there. I would like a little project bike (maybe a 125cc) to fettle and tinker with, because the scoot is in pristine condition and everything is in good order, so apart from cleaning it there is nothing to do to it. My 2 biggest problems are, 1 lack of space, can't get anything else in my shed, scoot has to go in slightly diagonally, and 2 the lack of ££££,s

I don't know if I can answer that really as used bike prices have fallen through the floor in the UK. I bought the bike in May ish 2024 when pretty examples were fetching £2000 + more for FSH and low miles. I paid £1100 for mine as it had a few scratches and looked tired. I don't know how much I have spent sorting it the way I like it but I would imagine I am still well short of what a good one with checkable history was worth. Dunno now. But for me that's not really the point I have enjoyed doing most of it and the bike runs as sweet as a nut for an 18 year old and is presentable now. Also I know it's good and I would trust it to go anywhere. I couldn't bear the thought of selling it now, I explored doing that when I bought the Triumph but just don't want to get rid of it. The CBF is the easy to ride go to bike when ever I have a errand to run, plus I commute on it as much as I can. The Hornet tends to be for sunny days and rides with the Lads. Be interesting to see how I feel when I have got the Sprint to a similar position. as the CBF.

Bet it'll look smart. If you were buying it again, how much more do you think you would be happy to pay to have it looking like it does now after all the little improvements? All together, they must make a big difference in looks.

Yes you can rotate it. There are airbox delete kits or there used to be that had a 90 degree bend pipe that also required the sensor to be rotated.

Thanks, it’s on a BMW K100 so bike not a car. It’s big and ugly so was looking to get rid but changing its orientation will help. I’ll just try it and see I guess.

We don't bother with that till after Mandis birthday which is the 9th Dec. And then sometimes we don't bother at all.

OK, 8 votes. That's a surprisingly low number considering the whining last year. The decision has been made then, unless the vote changes dramatically.

Came to my place for a couple of days, and finally washed all (must) of the Morocco dust and mud out my bike The house was freezing as it’s been closed for a while, am currently burning gas and wood to make it liveable
