Today I ground my way at rush hour all the way to Spitalfields, it took an hour and half from home, I parked my bike and barriered it off from traffic wardens. I had a dry fork leg, so all good so far. I went into my little hut (sorry, I mean luxury Shoreditch apartment) and I put on my little yellow trousers (with holey knee from the nail incident), my big steel toe capped boots, my plastic glasses, my hard hat and my gloves and walked with Vas up to the building site gate. The gate guard shouted something in Romanian and Vas translated, "you have forgotten your hi viz vest". I had to walk back and get the poxy thing. Left there an hour later and went to the old Crossrail site at Whitechapel to walk a new job with one of my bosses and a contractor. As we were discussing it a withered old man stood near us shouting "eeeeurghhh" every 2 seconds like an elephant and flinging his arms above his head whilst walking in little circles. I said to the others after a few minutes that they had been working in the area too long as they didn't even seem to notice him. Put my bike inside the Crossrail site fence and walked across to the new town hall only to realise I had to walk right back as I'd forgotten I was doing a measure on another job at the same place. Glad I'd left my bike jacket and lid on the bike as it was a hot day today. Did the measure with Dan Dan the paving man and walked back to the town hall yet again. Then spent a few hours drawing up stuff to ruin people's driving experience before going back to collect my bike and had a very warm ride home.6 points

Not so far off the mark! Used to nick my father’s C50 to go down to the pub with my mate on the back. We were fifteen and eventually got caught and made an appearance in juvenile court. I had endorsements before I even had a licence!6 points

Too true. Riding home just felt that everything was off with the bike. Noisy engine, some other noise that turned out to be my visor, bike wandering, and on and on. A simple case of paranoia I imagine but at least it makes me feel better about a change!6 points

There was a shaven headed hard cunt, or so he would tell you that used to drink in our local. We used to spend all night furtively dropping the odd pube in his pint when he was not looking or going for a piss. It was hours of fun if I laughed that much now it would probably see me off. Every now and again he would cough and dig the odd pube out of his mush, and mumble something about people taking the piss but never say anything to us. Although it must have been obvious it was us as we were practically rolling around the floor laughing every time it happened. Anyway what fuck wit leaves a pint unattended.5 points

UPDATE Picking bike up this morning. Apparently fault on throttle assembly- two historical ones, not current. Also fault on exhaust flap valve, three Exup type thing, and a couple of slightly corroded connections that they cleaned up. Said if it happens again they’d need to change the throttle assembly. Doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence. My brother is going to run me down to collect it in the next hour or so.5 points

It’s that time again, get those pictures submitted for bike of the month, so for everyone except for @Six30 here are the rules. 1. One picture entry per person, no posting multiple pictures, once you have entered a picture that is the one you will be stuck with. 2. Picture must have been taken in May, outside, away from home. 3. Overtly photoshopped pictures will result in a ban for the month. 4. Multiple pictures on this thread of the same bike will result in a ban, there will be a discussion thread in the gallery if you are needy and want other people to tell you if your picture is crap. 5. Picture must be in landscape format (for @Marcel that means the big measurement is along the bottom of the picture and the smaller measurement is up the side). 6. The winner for April cannot enter with the same bike! If the previous months winner has another bike then they can enter with a picture of that. 7. The bike must have been owned by you during that month so yes @Marcel, you can enter a picture of the Honda turd burglar that you took in May. Moderator decisions are final. This submissions thread will be open from now until the evening of Monday 29th, at which point the voting thread will open! Voting then takes place over two days with the Poll closing 7pm Wednesday 31st. Special rules for @Six30 1. You’re banned until July. 2. You don’t ride anyway. 3. Everyone hates you.4 points

As some of you have reported, the Giphy selector had stopped working! Seems like it was no longer accepting the default access key that the developers had set up in the forum software. So I created a separate API just for this forum and then generated a new key! Business as usual now!3 points

When we were in Croatia last month it was all cash nobody took cards anywhere we went, when i asked why i was told that they all went contactless during covid on the governments request and then got stitched up by them so the country went back to cash only to piss the government off or something like that LOL3 points

It's a modern country in that regards, no need for that old school trading currency on the black market, my cards work in every ATM in Morocco and my credit card worked every time I used it. Rates are also quite low, maybe 2 to 4 Euros to withdraw 200 Euros worth of Dirhams. Same as at home, I like to have cash if going out anywhere. I watch the 44 teeth videos too, and noticed that Chris was very anxious when traveling through eastern Europe and Croatia about people accepting his credit card or not. I wonder if it's a British thing nowadays, when abroad to rely more on plastic than having cash even if said cash is easily accessible through local ATMs.2 points
