  10. So it's first clean just finished but I didn't get to detail it as it started raining just as I'd finished drying it.... There were a few bugs and some road grime on my beak so it needed cleaning I just didn't get around to polishing it due to the poxy rain, but once cleaned there's not a huge amount to do till its nice and shiny All dried and back in the stable ready to use for work in the morning

  11. I'm not sure what this is supposed to represent? Actually ice has a greater volume than water, so you'll notice that the level has dropped slightly after it melts. Anyway, fill the jug to the same level with water, and we'll call this the oceans, ok? Now go to your freezer (which we'll call Antarctica) and grab a good handful of ice cubes and drop them into the beaker (oceans) and then see what happens to the water level in the beaker (oceans). I'll give you a clue, it's called the Archimedes principle. Eureka!

  14. They say that the camera never lies, but she was painfully slow and seemed to only know how to use 2 gears on her bike. But, fair play to her, she must be in her 70's and she completed the ride on a non-ebike!

  15. Yesterday's ride with the group and I was riding my non-ebike. There were some pretty slow riders in the group, so the average speed was pretty pitiful! Still, a few hills made sure that it was a decent workout.

  18. Spect you pack to go on holiday or go on jollies. Most of the population does, it all involves packing and travelling. Just once I’ve properly unpacked here that’s it for the year, everything wanted or needed is in place. Extricating yourself from your home life and keeping everything running smoothly is complicated. It’ll be worth it in the long run. Some things worth having don’t immediately bear fruit, they require putting in the time and doing the work. This is one of those things. I’ve already booked the tickets back out here

  23. Yer. The tailbag clicks on and off easily, doesn’t obstruct the panniers being opened. It’s easy to remove your valuables and comes with a strap so you can put it over your shoulder, then your hands are free for taking pics… if you take ride pics..

  24. I'd be tempted to bypass the dynast stuff just to see what happens with the snatchy throttle. Might be that the last owner had it set up for performance.

  26. So just got the beast out of the stable and under the rear seat is A power commander 5 and auto tune module and the box for the transontranslogic quick shifter. Looking at the exhaust it would seem to be a full yoshimura stainless system So I'm going to hazard a guess its not quite as standard as I thought it was, but the modifications are in good taste I think be interested to see if the airbox mod and sports airfilter have been installed too

  32. Cheers. It has worked really well. It’s my only transport over here so I needed a good boot sized capacity so I can do a large shop or bungee something big on the back. With the luggage combos available I don’t need a car and can get that extra pack of beer It was excellent on the boiling hot ferry vehicle deck too. Just unclipped it and walked away. Still think it looks a bit of a state though

  35. I've spent all day preparing for some van action. I had a go at fitting the Beta in the marmite wagon and it fits with room to spare just have to strap the front end down 2 inches to get it in That was the quick part the rest of the day i made a frame to hold the bike in place with some old ply and fencing timber i had kicking about Ok now i need to get on a ride there's one in Dolgellau in a few weeks waiting to see if its full now

  44. I feel your pain. The first thing I did when I got mine was to take it to Symtek Racing and have a full four-into-one race system fitted, a TRE installed and an air box modification. Mental as anything. It was a stupid thing to do to an already ballistic bike………and it made me love it more.
