Born in Gorleston on sea and lived here all my life, as were my parents. Spoiled the brew with Mandi as she's from chadderton near Manchester so at least the kids won't be boning each other.7 points

Last minuit changes! Due to the risk of not being able to get back into france and the complications that would involve for the family ( not to mention to my wallet) we had decided that I would be going to the UK alone on the 21st, We decided to wait till the 11th before booking a crossing and cancelling the cottage reservatoion as this was the date the UK announced it was dropping the need for a covid test within 48 hrs of arrival and I wanted to see if France would reciprocate and drop the need for a negative test 48hrs before comig home. no announcement was made during the day yesterday so wifey cancelled here holiday time with work ( nice of them to allow that) and in the evening I sat down to make my travel plans, cancel the holiday cottage and reserve a crossing for just me. I was an the ferry booking page when Mrs MooN told me they'd just announced that France is dropping the requirement for fully vaccinated voyagers from an "orange" country to show proof of a negative test on arrival. So, back to "plan A" for us too ( insofar as we actually had a plan at all...) and it now looks like we will be travelling " En Famille" after all. @boboneleg you're going to need a bigger tin of biscuits mate.... Seriously though, it'd be great to say hi if you're around at all that week, I guess you're about an hour and a half from Witney, something like that. If you want to meet up somewhere for a beer / tea/ coffee, whatever. I'll drop you a PM from here soon as I know exactly what our plans are.5 points

Born in Hillingdon, but then spent 4 years in Germany, then to Dagenham in time to start school, now the northern part of Essex since 1997. I think my Mum's family came from the Peckham area originally (like Del Trotter) and my Dad's family are from a fishing/sailing river estuary village near Colchester called Rowhedge. Graveyard is full of Powells. My grandparents on both sides moved into the same road in Dagenham in the late 1920s and that was where my Mum and Dad met as children.4 points

We had to head out to a pharmacy this morning for Mandy to get a COVID test done because she was pinged by the app yesterday. Result was negative anyway. Off to a few car dealers this afternoon, as Mandy is looking for a new car. Then it'll probably be beer and snacks and Netflix this evening, after the curry, which is cooking quite nicely in the slow cooker at the moment!4 points

Im off to supervise the making of garlic mushrooms to go with the steak and to try and shake off this feeling of uselessness! Laters4 points

Hungover. The pleasure pain ratio for whisky is well out of sync. Might wander down to a Chiringuito get a medical emergency glass of plonk and stare at the sea for the rest of the day. Or maybe just fester here eating crisps, watching crap on Netflix and wait for my son to get hungry enough to cave and cook the steaks. I don't know what to do, this is why hangovers suck4 points

The big Carrefour in Narbonne had a Chinese New year promotion thing on a week or two back, so we picked up some Thai red and green curry paste, along with some coconut cream whilst it was there. But we got some curry powder and garam massala in a healthfood shop a week or so ago, so the curry crisis has been averted! Prawn crackers are like that!3 points

Got your curry powder then? We're having slow cooker curry tomorrow, Chinese curry chicken, its surprising how well those flavours mix together. Ive eaten all the prawn crackers though, the hangover made me do it.3 points

Thats great news. Spain has just dropped the requirement for teenagers to be double jabbed because the hotel association ripped into the government for causing them to already lose millions in cancellations. The Spanish travel and tourism minister did such a fast uturn he could get a job with Boris3 points

Yes, I was thrown out of the RAF when they discovered I was only 5 years old. I think it was the ill fitting uniforms that gave me away (both feet in one boot). It was my Dad's second session in the RAF Police. He'd done it once as a National Serviceman when he was single and then joined up again a few years after when he was married. He was a dog handler, of course you have to sign a register if you get caught doing that nowadays.2 points

Moved into new thread cos this one is quite interesting! Born and bred in Swansea, with both parents born in Swansea. I lived there till I was 39. Hated the shithole! My father's parents were from Swansea, and my mother's parents were from North Wales and moved to Swansea before my mother was born. My paternal grandmother was a Jew and from a Romany family. I inherited the Jewboy nose unfortunately. I've never done a DNA test because odds on there's going to be some English DNA in there somewhere. And I couldn't live with that stigma! Jew.....Gypsy......I can live with that! But English? What about the rest of you?2 points

So you're going to get soaked riding for hours to a place where you get pissed, and then sleep in a muddy field surrounded by a bunch of Sad Old Greasers @Sir Fallsalot? Can't say that's my idea of a fun weekend! What you say @Six30?2 points

Mandi's been going on about watching the matrix movie, had a look and no-ones showing it any more. Home this weekend apart no doubt for some bloody shopping. Dragged all the bikes out for a run up this morn, all started bar the TDM. Think it's pissed as I put it away covered in shit from the last ride.2 points
