  3. Interestingly, or not, I had another Busted bolt yesterday but at work and when I discovered it it was lucky thay my "Technician" is off sick ( skiving since 6th June 2020) or he would have a) got punched and b) got an official warning for " Faute professionel" (three af them and you're out). This is what I was working on. planned oil and gearbox oil change, oil filters, fuel filters, air filter and belts, then sort the oil leak which I have traced to the oil pressure guage senders on the side of the block then clean the whole thing properly which obviously hasn't been done for some time. Note the excellent designof the hydraulic pump on the front of the main pulley, you have to remove the bloody thing to change either belt...( that's why the bolts are half out) When I looked at changing the alternator belts, I found this set up on the lower alternator: The whole thing was waaay out of alignement and clearly not correctly fitted. A while back I found two green painted bolts and a bush on my desk, with no explanation of where they came from... now I know. This is clearly a large dose of taking the piss and "don't give a shit'ism and means that my "technicien" if he ever returns to work, clearly cannot be trusted and is therefore worthless to us. I retrieved the bolts from my box of " That looks specific, I wont throw it away" bits and spent an hour removing the sh!t, changeing the belts, refiting the correct bolts and spacer and realigning the whole. ( all torqued down to "two white knuckles" ?) this is what it should look like

  5. Seems "some" dont know the "rules" of ownership, maybe because they dint have brothers, i dont know. The rules are simple. The youngest brother is there for hand me downs, doent mean you stop calling them the name of the brother who bought the chit. Butt they are yours, to do as you please, take this watch for example, its my oldest brothers, as soon as i need crack or a hoe, i get to sell it. For about 4 grand you see hand me downs are very profitable, cause now i have a Tomos too. According to Pedro's rules my first steet legal motorcycle wasnt mine either.

  7. I have a youger brother , we don't phone each other everyday or anything like that but when we talk we just carry on like it was yesterday. He's a biker as well but mainly has Harley's , he's the road captain for the local HOG branch. Having said that he does have a 1200GS which he says is ace so there's hope for him yet

  8. No siblings! My mother had me, burst into tears because I wasn't a girl, put me in a dress, and then shoved me in a chest of drawers. Couldn't stand the sight of me from the day I was born........so she wasn't going to take the risk of having more like me. She never wanted children anyway.....not a maternal bone in her body! So that's why I have no siblings!

  10. My replacement bolt was waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. I also had my second half of a pallet strapped to the back of my bike. The two half pallets together make it a doddle to ride the bike straight on to my ramp without worrying about falling over sideways if my feet miss the edge. I can still push it up if I ever had a dead engine bike to work on, but that can take a few attempts and was always a bit worrying as you nearly made it fully on only to have to cope with it going back down the ramp before trying again. They also made putting it on the centre stand much easier. So bike is ready at a comfy height, I have my replacement bolt, it'll be tea and music time later on today then a ride about to make sure nothing is going to drop off!

  13. The weekend didn't start so well for me. I had a bad week, the kind where stress kicks your ass and then laughs at you and you slowly die on the floor. ANYWAYS....not to be a downer. So I took the day to get better and spent a few hours just riding Charlotte, the best medicine one can get. Then did some cleaning when we got home and put her new windshield on. Hope to take Bagheera out tomorrow and if the weather is nice, get out in the yard and do some winter clean up from all the wind storms.

  15. The big change here is that I've now been let out of the town perimeters, but have to remain within the province of Granada! And the weather isn't too bad......not exactly tropical, but neither is it hell on earth. I've cleared the work I've had to do as well.......so things are looking promising. Which isn't normal! So providing something doesn't fuck it all up, I see some Styling and Profiling in my immediate future! What are you lot up too?

  16. Had a lovely long ride on Charlotte yesterday. I really needed to ride, so I decided to go for a coffee, at the farthest away coffee shop from home. ? Once the coffee was acquired we went on a walk around Gibsons. Had a view of the marina with a rather scary looking cloud overhead. This is where most people dock in the area and you can see in the distance some of the super fancy houses around here. Thought of you @Bruce with all those boats around. Around here if there is something to decorate they do. This retaining wall had some nice local native art to keep things colourful. But this staircase down to the water looked a bit steep for some old folks. After the coffee we headed to the Bay to enjoy the view for a few, but it was way too busy, so off we went. I was sad, we went through a super pretty area in Gibsons but my camera failed. The poor thing has been through hell with me, so no surprise. I did manage to capture a bit of the ride. I am going to put this bit into my new YouTube video introducing Charlotte, but here is a sneak peak! Enjoy and thanks for reading my ride report. ?

  17. Not that it matters in the least to anyone, but with my stressful week lifted from my brain, my inspiration is back! I was going to scrap my latest video project the other day, as I was rather grumpy.....lol But I went back to it today and I think I have made something out of very little. I'll post it later for your viewing pleasure!

  22. What do you mean no scenery... I'm sure Lincoln used to have a big pointy uppy building thing in the middle of it, very picturesque, some nice pics to be had down by the canal too I expect, Fiskerton, cherry willingham, you'll have me all teary eyed and nostalgic with a couple of pics from there...you're only an hour from the coast...tattershall castle, Boston stump, SKEGGY ! Louth... there's the asylum at Rampton, that'd be a shoe in here for top pic ?

  25. It's on, only had a single washer left over as well!!!! Lost two sockets somehow. The good thing about having my sockets and ratchets in order on those plastic things is that I know when something is missing and what it was. One was a hex/allen socket which had I found had stayed in the side stand monster bolts that I had trouble undoing at the very start of this thread. One down two to go. The other was a 6 sided 14mm socket. I knew it had dropped off of one of the bolts as I was working round the skid plate tightening fasteners and it was easier to get a 12 sided 14mm and carry on and I thought I would look for it afterwards. I hadn't seen exactly where it went to but it hadn't sounded like it went far or even on the floor if you know what I mean. I did about 5 circuits of the bench with a torch, even rechecked all my magnetic dishes in case it had stuck underneath. Finally it occurred to me that I hadn't looked inside the new bash plate.....that's where it was. Long screwdriver pokey time to get it within reach.

  38. My brother volunteered as a marshal at the vaccination centre near Ipswich. All the marshals got a vaccination one evening because they had stuff left over that would have to be destroyed otherwise. maybe being nice does occasionally have benefits.

  39. 2 tools only, WD40 and gaffer tape. If it moves and shouldn't, use the gaffer tape, if it doesn't move but should, use the WD40. ? I actually dont grease things with WD40 , I have a pot of marine grease.

  40. You remind me of the marine architect who drew the plans for an RNLI boarding boat we built when I was training, He'd decreed that the "stations" ( temporary forms around which the hull planking is done before fitting the frames and floors) were to be at 85.71428 cm apart. The master shipwright's first comment was " shall we tell him that we wrok to 1/8th of an inch tolerance...?" the difference between theory and practice,
