That used to be the same for me but not anymore. I'm looking at suspension first and if it isn't that great then how you can make it better. You can have all the power you want but if the suspension isn't working properly then that power could get you in trouble.

Heating bills!!!......we hardly use the central heating, if possible.

Takes a minute or two to narrow down what you want out of a bike doesn't it. But the answers often more power Quite bored with the Himalayan now just because of it's lack of power on an overtake. Thing is whilst I'm fond of it I'm really not bothered about leaving it exposed to the elements in airport parking and it's simple enough that with YouTubes help I can fix most problems myself. Considered bringing the Bandit out here but they have a reputation for tatty paintwork and mines in excellent nick so I'd spend too much time wondering if the Spanish sun and desert sands were battering it to pieces!

I have actually bought 4 bikes from Damerells in a year including my boys scoot. I went up their on Tuesday and the salesman hugged me . To be fair they made the best trade in offer to, which helped. . Think I will have to keep the Hornet for awhile as the Mrs raised an eyebrow this time, plus I think this one will be a keeper. I have actually narrowed down what I want a bike for now, rather than trying to find a job for a bike, if that makes any sense. As you can tell I am prone to over thinking things.

I have a heated jacket its quite thin so fits under my normal jacket although does make it a little tight. I find i don't have to turn it on half the time as it's warm enough, i normally switch it on when heading home in the evening when the temperature really drops making the ride home much more enjoyable, i put it on full until i smell bacon cooking and then leave it on simmer. I only wear a t shirt under my jacket all year around so i'd say it does a good job. Although my wife has discovered it now, last time we were out on a cold ride together she was complaining she was cold so like a fool i let her wear it and i froze my nuts off all the way home.

Triumph dealer looking for faults in a Honda?

Still got the Givi top box. Not gonna bother with the hand guards,. Gonna need a rack and pannier frames if the CB500's one won't fit, there is a chance they will. Fender Extender for the front, screen protector, some stick on tank pads, bobbins and paddock stand. Prolly some engine guards and maybe a screen. Only ordered a couple of bits so far, gotta wait for this months pay before anything else.

Got the Keiss heated body warmer and rarely use it now just cos the sub zero artic suit is so warm. But before I had that I used it a lot from end October right through to May. That and heated grips was the difference between staying out and enjoying the ride and going home. Mr Slowly also has the body warmer and uses his all the time. He likes that its relatively thin so doesn't take up much packing space and fits under normal bike gear (so long and its not tight fitting stuff), it does exactly what its say it does (rather that the usual over promising) and has the advantage that unlike bulky layers or suits like the one I use when you get warm enough you simply switch it off. The disadvantage I found was forgetting you're plugged in and walking into a petrol station to the sound of a twanging lead being ripped from it's socket, but even though I did that more times than I can count it still didn't break.

I wanted something faster really. I have given up on the idea of regular commuting as I just wasn't using the CB500 enough for that purpose and that was a big factor in choosing it. Without the limitation of economy I thought I would like something a little more fun. I tried several bikes (sat on rather than rode) and thought about many more but I came to the conclusion that I liked the physical size and weight of the CB500, the Hornet is near identical in both of those aspects with nearly double the power plus some tech to play, so a no brainer as it was within my budget. I do like a Honda, especially a new one made in Japan. Close run second choices were a 2021 Triumph Tiger 660 and a really nice fully loaded second hand CBF1000. Triumph Plymouth made sure the Tiger was a not a choice, I will never darken their door again, and the CBF was just to heavy.

I didn't want to say "vest" in case it was confused with the leather ones @Six30 wears when he goes to those speciality clubs.

Scoot has heated grips, but I have never turned them on, maybe if I went further than 10 miles from home it would be a different case.

if its that cold that you feel you need heated clothing .... then its to cold to ride .

Feel the same about the Triumph dealer in Somerset 'Total Triumph' the woman who was in there was a miserable see you next Tuesday, said lots of negative crap to me. So much so I left and went to Brizzle!

Never seen anyone trying so hard to look like they're going fast as the guy on those pictures They look nice in person too, a normal size bike.

I must admit I think it look great and I reckon they will sell by the shed load. I would have to travel if I were to buy one though following my recent experience with Plymouth Triumph I wouldn't buy a coffee there.
