I once had a letter from a man objecting to me converting 3 zebra crossings on the same road into Pelican crossings (1995ish). His argument was that I had taken his rights as a pedestrian away because where as once he could step out on the crossing and the vehicles should legally stop, now he had to press a button and wait till the red light stopped them. He demanded that we rig them so that they remained on a red signal/green man normally and any driver wishing to pass would have to wind down their window and press a button and wait to get a green light/red man before proceeding. I laughed back then, but it seems he was years ahead of his time. https://metro.co.uk/2021/05/27/london-pedestrian-crossings-to-have-green-man-unless-car-approaches-14661654/5 points

I’m guessing if it is what it looks like it has never been off-road in anger, front wheel is too small, looks like someone bought it hoping to become an off-road god but soon realised that they were being a cunt.2 points

It's still a road (not race) engine, and a Honda, so even if it's been through hell it's probably good, having said that, if you're not going to use the wheels why buy it? I would go for a pampered one instead, if it was my money. The thought of it having been abused would always be on my mind, that is supposing you would keep it for a long time. Having talked to a few people with pillion experience in a few bikes, there is no comfort for a pillion like a BMW rear suspension and seat (more so on bad roads), be it a GS or an RT.2 points

If it was owned previously by Lee Salt then it will have done a few Desert Rallies and have spent most of it's life being bounced off the rev limiter. Have a look at the some of the prices Colwyn Bay ask for some of their other bikes. There are loads of CRF1000/1100 's about, personally I would never buy a bike from them.2 points

The storm we had today gave us 3 inches in 4 hours, should be a good one in a few days when it hits your side of the pond.2 points

Just how your body is set up. I've never had a cold, flu or any sickness in my entire life. Don't take particularly good care of myself, either. Just lucky genetics, I guess. But if you have shit genes, you're gonna have problems.1 point

If there's one thing I really miss since loosing my leg it's swimming. I love swimming and i'll still swim in rivers and the sea but public pools are too much of a faff.1 point
