A casual weekend for me, not much planned. Went out yesterday and found some new side streets to explore. We had a big wind storm the night before so the roads were covered in tree droppings.....very slippery. ? Then today went out for a rainy ride and found a new beach access spot. So nice in the rain, nobody around, just some weirdo in motorcycle gear on the beach...?5 points

Met my good friend Paulo for a ride, today. Took almost no photos, and ended up spending almost more time catching up over lunch and coffee than actually riding, still had a nice ride over some good twisty roads more suited to my bike than to his, I think overall we must have done around 150km or something like that. Today was the first outumn weather day, with about 10ºC and fog high on the hills, made me appreciate lunch even more. Good stuff, catching up with friends, we had a lot to talk about. Paulo showing up: My lunch, not including the salad as to prevent you from seeing healthy stuff After lunch stop to see the views, including recent fire damage. There is no way that would catch fire unless under criminal hand, that really pisses me off. Heading back home and it was drizzling, made me appreciate a warm shower before going out to buy my mum some flowers for her birthday. Tonight, will be having a glass of red wine to match the weather and watching my favourite race, the Nurburgring 24H on it's youtube live transmission. Give it a look if you like proper driving on the world's greatest track, as good as cars on track can get:3 points

Goes with the territory, Advernture riders are always heavier and are also theoretically more offroad capable. Extra padding prevents rib contusions i hear i wouldnt know this still hurts btw i cant believe i dint break anything. Now to the dictionary to look up compassion.2 points

I won't be using the Strom for the next 2 weekends.........as it's going in for part ex and I don't want to tempt fate. However, on Sunday I will finally be tracking down that abandoned village in the Sierra de Segura that I've mentioned before. I can't use the Strom, plus the wife wants to see this place.....so it'll be a Drive Report...... ......in a French car! You don't get shit like this on ButtRider! Tell 'em @Tym1 point

Pete, sounds to me that the CRF is the way to go for your biking needs. A mate of mine has one here and another mate has one in the UK. They are as capable as you’ll need off road and the bloke in the UK did a weeks road trip with a collection of 600cc dirt bikes and wasn’t embarrassed. Great bikes. You could always push the boat out and go for the Rally version?1 point

No, his is an early one, I just looked it up: Dry weight:176.9 kg (390.0 pounds) Weight incl. oil, gas, etc:199.1 kg (439.0 pounds) However, Paulo tells me that just sitting on an 1200 RNineT, which is at least 20kg heavier, feels lighter. The boxer engine is great for low speed handling, you should try and move a modern 1200GS around. We had two or three days of heavy rain a week ago, plus today, I'm getting fed up with this water falling from the sky as it's messing up my biking style1 point

Double checked the weights and they’re both 244kg wet. My last was 238kg.1 point

It didn’t feel a lot lighter but probably moved around more in the wind. Conventional suspension so dived a bit on braking and I found that I had to mess with the suspension setting as whoever had it before me must have had a worse back than me - very soft setup causing it to wallow like an overloaded ship. Ergonomically very similar to mine although I fancied that the handlebars were a tad narrower. I liked it, but prefer mine, especially now that I’ve got a different seat.1 point

I've been trying to find some 'dark side' places around here but they're usually occupied by 'strange' dudes so I think i'll just go for a trail ride.1 point

Since tomorrow is Saturday, I'll postpone the vote start until sunday, so that people can get a chance for an extra ride with possibly a couple more entries. I'm just trying to get a video of @Tym riding that thing waving to his mother1 point

I think that Tym's moped should be allowed Pedro......because he's obviously riding it. And it'll probably get more votes than his KLR!1 point

Filled it with gas and oil, made sure all the wiring was plugged in properly, it wasnt, she started right up, sounds just like the motor in Losenuts to be honest. ... i just rode by my house with my mum watching...better cred then a pic! Pics coming i have to taunt my oldest brother he thought it was fucked. Got the whole weekend for ride reports1 point

Tomorrow I shall be taking a little ride around, going to do a 150 or so km loop around some twisties and mountain roads, nice and shortish back by mid afternoon kind of thing. Might be joined by a friend on his 800R, but still unsure. It's going to be the return of my winter jacket, as the temperatures are not really over 20ºC.1 point
