Looks like it's going to be the week after next that it's available.......because there's a waiting list to get ITV's (MOT's) done due to the Covid shutdown. And you can probably guess that it's going to be the G650GS.......the CRF250L would be better offroad for sure, but onroad it would struggle because of the distance I need to go to reach the abandoned shit. I've done nearly all of the closer stuff......from now on it's going to be an hour or two to get to them. Doing that on a CRF (and I'd need to access motorways) would be hard going. So it stacks up like this.......2007 DL650 38K kms + €1500 = 2015 BMW G650GS with 19K kms, 1 year warranty, 2 years ITV (MOT). It's a no-brainer......I sell the Strom for what I paid for it 15 months ago, and the €1500 cash difference equates to 9 weeks Pension. That's been going into a separate Bank account and hasn't been touched.......so literally there's nothing coming out of my normal money. Like I said.....it's a no-brainer!

The upside though is we're all still here doing what we do........despite being the walking wounded these days. You look back and consider how many aren't.......most of my original bike mates never survived the 70's. It was like The Killing Fields back then. And since then so many others have gone through illness.......now I don't wonder what old friends are doing, I wonder whether they're still alive.

One of the things I found when we cleared my late Mum's house was my Dad's old RAF Police jacket. None of your American high quality material, this is 1950s/60s British material, it is like sand paper, it will take skin off if you're not careful. I can just about get it on but I can't get it done up, I have the pot belly my old Dad never did.

Not when it's moving. I dropped it today trying to park on what I thought was level enough ground. When I went to move it to a better spot the back end span round and deposited me on the ground. Bike was sat at about 45 degrees so easy enough to right it. Fortunately no damage to me or the bike. But don't tell anybody! ?
