Lovely news @busabeast Sky’s gonna be a big sister.

Thanks Caroline, yeah though we haven't told her just yet but she has a midwife appointment tomorrow morning so the plan is to tell her the end of the week

If the weather turns really cold this winter the scoot will end up in the spare room, it is not particularly warm in there (rad turned off)  but its dry.

In fact the scoot is coming in there tomorrow,  there is a storm forecast for Wednesday and Thursday,  there is a dead tree the other side of our boundary fence and it is leaning towards my shed,  if it falls my shed is right in the firing line.

So how stormy is too stormy to ride in?

I had a look at storm Agnes cos a friend I’m meeting up with in a week or so is riding through it from up north down to Portsmouth to get to the ferry on this-

Not exactly great for winds speeds “up to 80 miles an hour”

Would you ride it or put it in a van?

Having been across Bodmin on a bike in a storm I’m definitely gonna say van.

I do ride, I don't really get much chance nowadays though, and in about 7 months there will be even less time to devote to riding

I thought she hated you?

You’d ride in gale force winds when the RAC are advising people not to drive let alone ride? Madman.

Van .. who and why would want to ride in a storm....

Some folk just like to grit their teeth and go for it don’t they. Pit themselves against the conditions.

Suffer with a bit of that myself, it’s stupid but you do it anyway 🤪

When I had a wee ride in a storm (I’ll never do it again) I was on a much heavier, lower bike and luggage weight was low down, I still abandoned the insanity half way across Bodmin moor as ‘death or hotel?’ is quite an easy game choice 😆

And nothing worse than everything including yourself getting soaked … no fun
