Hold your ground mate, make sure the appropriate care package is put into place before she comes home.  I won't comment on your life but my Brother in law is going through a similar thing with his 94 year old mother.   She is in hospital and the moment and has been back home twice and had to go back in again, just pushing her out to soon because they need the bed.

Our bungalow is OAP friendly,  wide doors for wheelchair users, pull cord alarms in every room, and taps that help with poor strength and grip.

As I may have said earlier, there are 6 of these bungalows, 5 out of the 6 have a Wet Room, guess which one does not?, we did apply for one when my wife's knees were bad, but it was refused by the housing association. 😡

She cannot lay in in our bed, she can't get in or out of it, so if they discharge her tomorrow it will be back to sleeping on the sofa.

Red Cross says they are coming to see her at home, if! she is at home...........NHS, providing no help........what a shit show. 😔

You need to get hold of Adult Social Services Clive which are part of the local authority (council), plus there are other agencies.  PM me your email and I will forward the links to you.    You can challenge the discharge if you feel you don't have safe provision for your wife.  Sounds hard but you would be doing it for the best reasons.    You have to say, no she can't come home until there is a care package in place, you have to say you cannot cope and it is not safe for her or you.  You will have to explain to them that the only place she can sleep is the sofa which is not safe or suitable.  First two weeks of the package is already funded without assessment.  You will probably get it ongoing depending on your benefits and the assessment of Adult Social Services.   Age Concern and Citizens Advice will help.     It's stressful mate but you will get what is needed if you stick to your guns.  Horrible that you have to do so but that is the way of things in England.    If you want to discuss more PM me and I will put you in touch with my Mrs who is sorting out something very similar for her Mum.

@Clive  you could also ask for her to be put into a Cat 2 ward for respite care (normally in a small local hospital) until there is suitable provision (assessed by Adult Social Services) for her at home.

Everything is centralised at King's Mill hospital,  the others in Mansfield, or close by in the surrounding area were closed down years ago (Forest hospital...Ransom hospital....Harlow Wood to name the few I know)  King's Mill became part or the  Sherwood Hospital trust, which includes Newark hospital.

As to respite care,  I ain't got a clue where someone would go, or even if they had a place for respite cases..

Sorry to hear your wife is having health issues Clive, I hope she recovers OK and life gets as back to normal as it can.

As above try adult social services and poss occupational health. We had to do it for my mum, they weren't perfect but they did help with various things to help her mobility. We had to buy a bed which can be raised and lowered tho. Some of the stuff is eye wateringly expensive. They were reasonably good with arranging home visits by a nurse to change dressings etc.

As I have said to @Saul we have been involved with Social Service before, they were no help, well very little help.                                    Maybe I am being negative, but I have doubts that her condition will improve much, her age and the  Osteoporosis will continue to be a problem.

CISWO did more for us when we tried to make a previous Attendance Allowance claim (but it was denied)....... i will get my wife to give them a call when she is discharged from hospital

What a pair We make, one almost crippled, the other deaf as a post, normal life? Forgot what's that like 😂

@Clive don’t accept no for an answer mate.   You need to be active and pursue Adult Social Care, they are responsible for your wellbeing and safety.

Just had some foamy therapy cleaning up the CBF and Shadows bike.

Also had a close look at what needs to be done cosmetically after Shadows damage and storm Goretti’s damage to it.     Not to bad really few bits and bobs to be paired and some paint correction (polishing) on the tank.    A few days in the healing shed will get most of it done.

Well, after dealing w/ a plugged up sewer pipe running through my yard....that the neighbor is also attached to...for a month now...finally got it fixed yesterday. 6ft. of pipe was completely plugged w/ tree roots that was on the hillside of the front yard. Had a plumbing outfit come out w/ an excavator & dig it up...replaced the plugged section w/ PVC pipe & then back fill the deep-a$$ trench they dug. The amount of sh*t water that came out when they cut out that section of pipe was astonishing.🤢 Now all I have to do is recap the 2 clean-outs in the yard & then wait for the (probably Stoopid expensive bill) the show up.🙄 Fortunately, the neighbor has agree'd to split the bill w/ me since his 130 y/o house was probably the 1st house on this hillside back in the day. I'm just glad it's done. Next ordeal is to start collecting materials to re-roof my garden shed....which should be a lot easier on the wallet.👍

After visiting my wife in hospital I thought I would take a look at the car.

The high level brake light does not illuminate, took a gander at it, can I see how to remove it!,  can I hell as like, no visible screws,  looked on YouTube,  it says there are 2 Torx screws?..so where the hell are they?

Part 2 of the job tomorrow, I bet I bust it. 😂

If it hasn't been moved for a while the gasket between can stick assisting the busting process so go carefully.
If I remember right they're led and common for failing.

Yeh it's LED, I am not expecting that I can fix/repair/bodge it, just want to be able to remove it for when I have a replacement to be fitted... 👍

I did a quick search and it looks like you have to remove the trim piece that the light is housed in first which if it like the one in the video runs fully along the top of the rear hatch. Good thing is that pattern part lights are available for under £20.

I did remove the trim, there are 2 holes which are directly behind the light, I can see in there and there are no screws, or what appear to be clips.

I think @Catteeclan,s suggestion that the light unit just clips into the cut out in the tailgate, and needs levering out.... but as I say, I will most likely (definitely 😂) bust it in the process of removal,  I will order a new one, which may give me the solution as to how it is fitted into the tailgate..

It looks like it depends on the year, some are saying you can get a flat bladed screwdriver into the right hand side and lever it out.
