Over dinner with a fish expert friend, buy conger’s head and just the three or four first slices as after that it’ll be too bony. The first 3 or 4 is where the money’s at. Prefer to avoid that kind of fish altogether, the rice I made today with the grouper was 5 stars!!! Just now finishing some wine that we kept opening to wash it down with.
Clive
Took the Dacia back to the garage for the repairs to the MOT failure,s, it will (in my opinion) be a expensive day or 2. Hope me or my wife don't shuffle off, had to raid the burial fund to pay for the repairs...

The supermarkets have cod, salmon, mussels and two or three other things whereas you go to a shop in France or elsewhere in Europe and they have a choice of 25 things half of which I’ve never seen before. I just buy stuff at random when I’m there, just to try it. I do love sardines or sea bream cooked on a grill.

Took pictures while waiting for my fish because I know @boboneleg appreciates a nice market. A nice looking conger, I had to look up the name as we call them Safio. Black swordfish from the deepest waters of Madeira, and mackerels: Sardines are great this year, sadly too smelly to cook inside at home and ray Those are some weird looking fish...wouldn't catch me eating those...
