When he goes too far on the beach, do you walk around calling out loud “dear boy”?

He's very good and has great recall.  I call him Odus and he comes.   As my daughter says: "I think you will find he is a very good boy"

They're dumping raw sewage everywhere there now!

The Avon is always that colour of green except when it's in flood, something to do with the local geology.

Phosphates. They feed the algae and turn the water green. I believe the phosphates get into the water from waste like sewage treatment.

Yep, probably the one at Salford.  That's why I've never swam in the Avon below Saltford :classic_tongue:

We went on a couple of snow shoe walks on our few days away in the Cevennes. Bloody hard work, especially in the fresh soft snow!

Looks gorgeous! Right up my street. Apart from the snow shoeing you can keep that 😮💨!

Chair lift up the mountain and sliding down on slippery sticks is the way to go.. literally checkout, it’s dumb and dangerous 😆

When we were at the top of the main mountain on Tuesday sitting enjoying the view (we went up by cable car) and sipping our vin chaud a lady was being helped off the slopes and lifted into the cable car! Not the best advert for skiing! 😉

Anyway, there was no shortage of those willing to risk life and limb! 😂😂😂

It’s worth the risk, well if you enjoy that sort of risk that is.

For the first time ever I caught a chair lift back down a mountain rather than ski it last week, that was a vin chaud related decision 😂

I stopped for one because my feet were cold but it was a tiny place and they didn’t have any change.. so I had to have two, just as I was finishing the others turned up and wanted one and I couldn’t be rude so.. 😬🤪

Somehow I sensibly decided the icey slopes and my sloshy stomached self wouldn’t make good a good match so got the chairlift back down 😆

Nice walk 👌

Cheesy chips, haven’t had those in a while.
Did the unofficial dish of Canada a few weeks back Poutine (but with garafalo mozzarella rather than curds) and red wine beef dripping gravy, amazing how many languages cheesy chips translates into 😂

Have you ever stopped off in Rumwells down the A38 (next to Sheppey Cider and the Triumph garage)?

I never fancied the look of it but I read they’re into making doughnuts, make hundreds a week. You can order up to midday the day before and they’ll make them fresh for you in the morning just before they open.

I have to admit that if I'm down that way I don't seem to be able to go any further than Sheppy's , I can't think why ?

After 10 days of being grounded by gout I got out and about with the Dear Boy this morning.   7.5k to the Gribbin Day Mark and back.  Just stunning weather perfect for walking.   One shot is looking across the river mouth to the little village of Polruan.   I ran one of the pubs there for a short time and got to know the community well.  A great and atmospheric place.
