  1. I’ve crossed France many times by car on motoways, but only a couple of times on small roads. Yours seem the best kind of rolling hills and sweeping corners on a rural background, they make me want to go there, which is nothing like I have felt before.
  2. The guy’s father?
  3. One nut is enough, from what I have been told. It’s the attitude that matters. Also better for riding a motorcycle in the summer.
  4. Good luck @Tym, surgery is always an anxious experience.
  5. To me, that's perfectly adequate, just because Spain wants tourism money doesn't mean England has to think it's ok for their citizens to go there.
  6. This made me smile, someone Portuguese government related said the other day that if you refuse to have your Astra Zeneca vaccine based on wanting to choose brand of vaccine, you'll be waiting for quite a while to be called back
  7. Internal tourism would keep a lot of tourism business afloat by themselves, without actually having people contact with people from all over the world, and making thousands of people go through crowded airports. That would mean all you brits and northerners wouldn't be able to fly over to enjoy the sunshine, somehow that bothers me none
  8. Portugal is the same in the Algarve, and 30 or 40% of that importance all over. However, you must consider that Germany is happy to allow their citizens to go to an area that is considered dangerous by that own country's government, that also does not make much sense. I would say there is a case to be made for closing country borders to tourism, instead of allowing tourism international flights.
  9. Saw something funny regarding Spain yesterday. They are accepting bookings for tourists from Germany and other places to go for a holiday on the beach, and yet have their own regions closed in
  10. It's a virus that spreads on people to people contact, and it starts spreading when people start contacting with each other? That is indeed very suspicious.
  11. Less close with the spray, Pete, lighter coats each time.

"Oh puta, deita-te" This is not so much a Portuguese saying, but a northern Portugal expression. It's not really PC, translates into "Oh whore (as in prostitute), lay down". You apply it when you confronted with a situation that could easily be resolved but someone is making it more difficult than it needs to be, or when problems just keeps piling up and you can't solve one before the other appears. For example, you're driving along and someone is blocking the road doing a three point turn. That three point turn somehow turns into a 10 point turn and there is no sign it'll end, "Oh puta, deita-te", meaning "come on, let's get it over with"
  14. They were 5 Euro difference for the front tire, so I went with the Maxxis, trying new things and all. All I want is that the front doesn't wash out when on smooth gravel, which sometimes the AC10 does. The best I've had on this bike said "Motocross" on the side with big letters, I think they were Metzeler but might be wrong, it was quite a few years ago.

It something you say when someone asks you for something you're not willing to give them or do, or something unrealistic. It doesn't make sense in English neither does the verb translate, it means "You would want, you would want, potatoes with eels" Might have been from an older time when potatoes with eels was maybe a rich dish, I don't know.

  17. I´ll order the IT then, don't know when I'll fit it, or if it'll be successful as it'll be my first time doing it, but looking forward to having front end grip again.
  18. What people think when they hear of a house in the ground: Reality:
  19. She properly slammed the door on her way out, didn't she?
  20. By the way, regarding the tire recommendation, @boboneleg, I mostly ride on very dry ground. Either sort of sandy or very hard gravel. Would you still say that Maxxis would be the best choice for improving on the AC10?
  21. It's when I found three different sizes that I thought best to ask: https://www.enduroportugalshop.com/collections/acessorios-pneus
  22. @boboneleg, would that go well with the rear ac10? You mention bad wear but the tire really looks like new. I don't really care if tires last long or not on this bike, I ride it so little often it makes no difference. Your recommendation, then, is that a tire like that at more than 17 psi wouldn't slip?
  23. Acceleration is frequently as aggressive as I can but it's the front wheel. Yes, there were a few hard brakings on tarmac, that surely did it, I ride this bike very little and sometimes am surprised at how little it brakes when compared to the GS. The tire is almost new but it's been on the bike for years. It's an AC10, I put them on because they're road legal but the front one is pretty shit.
