Very naughty to take his money probably knowing they wouldn’t deliver the bike. A couple of clients have done a similar thing to me, delay writing checks to next day and then go into administration overnight

There's a saying: a boat is a hole in the water you throw money in

@Clive is your man regarding an opinion on a project bike that just needs carbs done.

Just looked it up, it was made by Minarelli, like the other XT660 of the same era. -

I would assume it’s a Yamaha engine. But it’s not a supermoto, I’ve seen people travelling on them and apparently being quite comfortable doing it. -
Currently on a train, taking a 3 hour trip to near my place. Dog is poorly, and experts are evaluating what to do, dad is poorly and slowly decaying, mood is low, bike is broken and now waiting on overnight parts from Japan (Germany, but Japan sounds more Fast and Furious), and I just got the news that I might be getting into talks that will maybe terminate my main source of income in a matter of months. I might have a wine bottle or two at home waiting for me, I hope

I will try, but people have been making strong efforts for a while now.

I had to look up what is 6 foot 1, at that height and well built I think you'll find all those a little cramped after a while, and maybe overloaded. If you've tried a CB500 last and liked it, have a sit on something like a Suzuki VStrom something of that genre and see how you like it, maybe even a 600 thumper. On the road they feel a little less cramped. Having said that, if you like cruisers why not an older Shadow 750 or something like that? -

I have never ridden one, but a pizza delivery guy has just taken 2 minutes out of a google maps 8 minute trip on one, so tonight I like that bike a lot! That guy’s bike had no stickers, 4 different colours, rusty everything, but sounded just sweet when he started it. -

I was thinking he probably likes his brakes to feel nice while braking

Welcome @Jimbo 64. I can’t help with your bike choice, except to say I sat on a Triumph Speedmaster and they’re very comfy sat still Is there any reasons why you would prefer a cruiser apart from the style and aesthetics? If not, I would look into a UJM style Honda, like the CBF600 @Saulhas, or a V Strom 650, for a cheaper used bike that you can really put your trust on. They are heavier than what you’re looking at, though. Stick around, and I ask for forgiveness in advance about the inane level of drivel you’ll find once you start to look into this forum -

Kills me how he is so cool and happy even going through shit, and then we have to leave him to have stuff done when he's scared and not understanding what is happened and why he's being left. After the first time it happened I make sure to sign everything on arrival. If I do it on exit all the paperwork gets tear smudges ...

And, we just discovered what is wrong with my gearbox. A gearbox cog in this bigger shaft here to the left, which is the live one that comes from the engine. My dude is going to work something out.

Did absolutely no work today. However, got a replacement pair of gloves out of warranty because the girl at the shop is a very nice human. Went on a little walk with Costa and my brother, and went to visit my motorcycle. Tomorrow in the AM Costa is going in for a fancy CAT scan, and then a top surgeon is going to see what he has to say. I foresee an emotional day and little work done as well.

A we have a landslide for @Skippy. Congratulations, BIKE OF THE MONTH SEPTEMBER!

I like them a lot, but don't see myself putting one to proper use, sadly.

Those diagonal rock slits look like pure danger all slathered in wetness like that. Serious question, though, what’s the point of having a leader if he doesn’t know what’s ahead?

Maybe just don’t vote for yourself?

Probably gearbox issues, I hope to have news next week. Nothing really on my mind, another 1200GS, an RT, an MV Agusta triple, an Africa Twin, a T700, a V85,
