  3. After recharging the battery, decided to have another go up Clark Cr. rd this morning. It was great to find that the road got a lot closer to the creek as I went along. The weather was just about perfect....& I knew we were due for a bit of rain tomorrow, so I'm glad I chose today for this exploration. As I was looking for photo op's, I passed through a coupla farms where there was cattle in fenced fields on both sides of the road....& of course there was a few strays that were feeding on vegetation on the edge of the road....didn't stop for them, but they were sure checking this oddball dude passing by on 2-wheels....lol I was feeling pretty stoked & blessed, the farther I went, that I picked such a beautiful place to move to almost 5 yrs. ago now. I ended up riding about 6+ miles out before my lame-ass feet started giving me some grief....(MRSA is such a Bitch)....so a return ensued. After all, I still had the never-ending yard work & back yard to mow before the liquid sunshine shows up. Did almost 15 miles & felt pretty good overall.

  4. Just been out for a couple of hours with the youngest for a bimble around. She wanted to go out on the bike and I’m knackered from a week in the garden so I was easily persuaded. I asked her what she fancied doing and she said ‘sausage sandwich’ so we headed up to Liskeard as she hasn’t been to Checkered Flag before. Tis only 20 miles with some nice twisties on the way which was a bit of a bust in the end due to traffic but we were out all the same. Opened the bike out a bit on Liskeard bypass, the Hornet seems to be getting quicker, whether it is my confidence the 99 Ron fuel or just the placebo effect but it seems to be flying. Luckily I backed right off after a couple of miles just as I passed a copper in a layby waiting for fuck wits. Chloe fed and had her orange hot chocolate, she did say that it was good but Damerells was better. We then went out to see what they had for sale. Possibly the roughest AT I have ever seen in the flesh. Really tidy little Honda CL but 38k on the clock. Some more old stuff Couple of 125s. One was a Derby, chinky? An Aprilla and weird looking Suzuki, I have no idea never seen one before Really most of what they had there was a load of old tat, doesn’t inspire confidence in the place. Oh and as aside I picked up a free bikers bible, as I thought it was a local guide to dealers and that sort of info. Took it out my pocket when I got home and to my surprise it was a real bible. Didn’t expect that.

  8. It’s time for Bike Of The Month again, submit your pictures in this thread. One picture of your motorcycle on a ride somewhere in April, in horizontal format. I’ll consider the last picture posted by each member for the vote, which will start on the 28th, probably end of day.

  9. In 2016, a good friend of mine took me with him on his vacation to the NE corner of OR...I fell in love with the place! My property taxes going through the roof in Portland...So I spent the next 2 yrs. hunting down an affordable residence on the east side of the state. When we decided to sell, I went & bought a $5 For Sale sign....put it up in the front yard....5 minutes later, the next door neighbor came over asking if we'd take down the sign & they came over the next day w/ their realtor & we sold it for enough dosh to pay it off....buy this place here in Elgin....pay it off...& still have enough stash to pay the property taxes here, which were 1/3rd of what I was paying in Portland. Smartest thing I've ever done....love it here more everyday! Besides, the whole left side of OR has turned into an absolute over-populated Sh*tHole...especially the Portland area. Night & Day difference to where I live now.

  11. I get the feeling mine has passed the point of saving. It was originally all hardwood, but I can't prove that as it was a gift to my Mrs from her brother. Typical of that prick to give my Mrs something that meant work for me.

  23. After my wife's phone call to the doctors, when the receptionist said "The doctor will ring you back" but he didn't , she decided to give them both barrels this morning, told the receptionist what transpired on the previous phone call, to be told "Doctor issued a prescription on the 8th of April, it is in the pharmacy awaiting you collecting it".... wife said what about a phone call telling us this?.....seems we have to be able to read minds now too. Oh and the housing association are coming to install loft and cavity wall insulation....November 15th

  24. While waiting for someone with a compressor to be available I removed the SAS and the EPC fittings from the bike, cleans up the look without all those hoses going everywhere and doing nothing, was very satisfying, tell you what though, its rather cool on the garage, bloody 17C, I am writing a stern letter to the Prime Minister about it. Found a pic of the garage before I tidied it up, looks much better now. And a bonus moose of a size that Marcel can probably handle withoput to much assistance from Billy Bob. Why would I disable the EPC system? The EPC system reduces engine performance in 2nd/3rd gear and is only there to meet emissions requirements. Why would I disable the SAS? The SAS works together with the catalytic converter in the exhaust cans, also to reduce emissions. If you have aftermarket cans it is pointless and can cause problems. Removing the SAS is not recommended with standard cans. Why would I remove all of this stuff rather than just disable it? Because it is unnecessary, ugly, messy, restricts access to the engine, and because it is something else to go wrong, something else you won't have to consider if you do have problems. The repair manual actually warns that the EPC valves will malfunction if they are exposed to vibration.
