Bude Bike Night. 1/5/24

Recommended Posts

Just got back (20:30) from Bude bike night.   Took my youngest and went with the Fowey Chill Blaine chapter.   Five of us and my youngest.   Guzzi V85TT, Triumph Scrambler, CB500X, RE Super Meteor and my Hornet.

The bike night in Bude has moved to Rosie’s  Kitchen which is down near Crooklets Beach.  Lovely spot which I failed to take any pictures of.

Any way some interesting stuff there although a small turnout by Bude standards.

Couple of nice Wank Panzers.   Told my youngest that’s what they are called on here, apparently there is something wrong with us according to her 🤣    Thinking about it she’s not wrong.

After I took the photos a Harley crew all patched up in club colours rolled in parked in the middle of the car park and proceeded to scowl at everyone else.   Strange lot, why come to a bike night if you didn’t want to mingle.

On the way home we stopped in Camelford for chips

Chloe was buzzing when we got home she loved travelling in a group.  Especially as we lead on the way home, don’t know why she liked that so much, I don’t personally but whatever.  We were out for 5 hours and Chloe managed to consume a white hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, cheesey chips, burger and Dr Pepper.   I had a coffee, yet I’m fat and she is like a rake.   😕

Rare to see a Jota!

Yeah but he turns out for most Bude bike nights.  Only the 3rd I have ever seen in the flesh.  Same chap also has a Montjuic, 3C and a RGS, which is my favourite to be honest.  Always lusted after a RGS back in the day.

Nice one @Saul
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a bike night , I’ve thought about it but I’d rather go and ride a few lanes.

Same here!

Except in my case they'd be smooth, dry roads!

I understand what you're saying Bob but it was a 93 mile round trip along allsorts of A and B roads to get to Bude and back.   I find half the thing with a bike now is having a destination to aim for and if it has a friendly cafe and some bikes to look at all the better.  😉  Plus it was good to be out with my mates and youngest.

I have found the reason i ride the bike has changed over the years, for most of my biking life i didn't need a reason or a destination to ride i would just go and see where the front wheel took me, now with the road bike i seem to have to have a destination to get it out other wise i don't bother. I still go out just to ride with the trail bikes as i still feel like i want to go out on them hope that don't change.

Took the Dominator for a MOT a few mins ago and was disgusted to see I'd only covered about 300 miles on it since last year.
As Mandis been so busy we haven't been out like we used to and I'd bet the TDM and Tracer have only covered a few miles.
But the domi's the embarrassing one as it's my local hack. For shame.

I have sat thinking,  furthest I have ridden from home is 27 miles to Donington Park,  all other rides no further than 10 miles
