Nothing posh Clive its a NHS one been in the same practice for about 30 years they have been trying to kick me out because i haven't been in two years so booked a checkup today as I've had a slight toothache for the past couple of weeks and didn't want to wait until it became a real problem, need to revisit for a filling now. Got a new  young woman to treat me now will have to see if she's any good.

The bloke that used to treat me was like this

Can't get a NHS dentist around here, wife went through all them that she could find (advertised/online)...they were either private or not taking on any new NHS patients...

Yeah they are cunts, I've not had anything to do with them as yet but heard from others that have and they said they will do all in their powers to find an issue to keep you off the road

I use to pass a VOSA/DVSA weighbridge 3 times per week, shit myself every time. 😂

Never got pulled though!. ☺

It's the same everywhere Clive, we see loads of people with tooth pain/abscesses/mouth ulcers etc on our books over the weekend looking for emergency treatment.  We are pretty much powerless to help, some are referred to emergency dentists but there are few appointments which are prioritised by triage, and pretty much no safety net.    Its a bloody disgrace.

Why did you shit yourself each time, wasn't you doing it by the book?

How much does a visit to the dentist cost where you live? Private dentist, out of the nhs for maintenance or to pull a tooth out?

A normal filling or root canal is £47 with the NHS that included my checkup today not sure what it would cost private.

You would be lucky to even get to see a private one Pedro.  They rarely do walk ins, have to be on their books to get to see one and that is normally a monthly fee just to be on their books.   The system is pretty much broken.

Nope everything was done by the book by me, but I was a relief driver, driving other (regular) drivers lorries, and apart from the usual walk round checks, I was not sure how much the guys checked their vehicles, so I could have missed something that the VOSA/DVSA guys would undoubtedly find.

To be fair as a driver who's always had my own truck that nobody else drove I eased off with walk rounds after a while although I would always check lights and tyres/nuts the rest of it I was always just keeping an eye on things as I drove it

Anywhere between £90 to £150 in our area (I read)  but getting on a dentists book/list is the problem, most not accepting new patients.

A couple of the guys were a nightmare to cover when they were off work, arrive at work at 3am to find a headlight/sidelight/tail light out, only a 5 or 10 min job to fit a new one, but they knew it was out.

A couple were dirty fookers too, cabs like a tip, one use to smoke ( even though he shouldn't) small cigars and flick the ash on the dashboard, fire the screen demister up and a cloud of ash blew in your face, he got sacked.

I use to see those lorries quite regularly when I was delivering/collecting around Catterick Garrison, I had a army issued pass (similar in looks to a driving licence) but some if the sentries on certain barracks were still arseholes.....

Yeah I can't abide a scruffy fucking cab, mine is spotless, to the point last night on my way home I gets a call to ask where I was, said I'm on my way home and was told oh well we need to use your wagon for a rush job down to Catterick, I told the planner fair enough but I expect my truck back in the same way I left it.

Got in to it this morning and the cunt who used it had put much and crud all on the drivers footwell..... well this morning I went mad and told the planner that either some cunt cleans it out or the load doesn't get loaded as I'm not driving it in that state (I don't wear boots/shoes in the cab)

So yeah the planner ended up coming out to the truck himself and cleaning it up once he did that and it was to my satisfaction I told him there and then that under no circumstances does any twat drive my wagon again.

Surprisingly he was very apologetic which is entirely unlike Bruce

I got in one lorry (years ago) and thought, that's unusual,  tinted windows,  until I wiped them, it was nicotine. 😂

He's an ex driver himself he said he understands that drivers want their cabs a certain way especially those who live in it for sometimes weeks at a time and that if someone else uses the wagon and leaves it in a state that it's not the drivers obligation to clean up afterwards especially if the cab was clean to begin with, so because he was the one who authorised my wagon to be used and the driver who used it was nowhere to be seen that he took it on the chin and made the job good.

Kudos where its due, he is a decent guy contrary to what I'd heard from other drivers

Just because you'd have told me to fuck off and clean it myself, why should I have cleaned it myself if I didn't make the mess.
