I know it sounds silly but with the gauge not working is there fuel in the tank?

blocked fuel filter?

Or its a dodgy sensor somewhere possibly? Maybe cam sensor?

Yes there is, I put £30 of the finest E10 in the tank the day before I looked at the tank sender. 👍

I did have trouble with a sensor in the past, car would start OK, but would not pull from slow speed.

Been out (got pissed wet through) and tried to start the car, Click..Click..Click.

Put car battery charger on (basic charger) and it lights up that battery is charged, so I put my scoot charger on and it shows that is not charged, so I am going to try a new battery, just hope the scoot charger puts enough in battery to start the car, it's a bloody long walk to the car spare shop, and it's still pissing down.

Bought a new battery, installed it, and it fired up straight away.

And the fuel gauge now reads that tank is absolutely full, which I know it ain't. 😂 but at least it is running.

Going to start the search for a car replacement at the weekend..

If I could afford a much newer one I would have another, it has been a good car for 10 years, but the mechanicals, and other things are wearing out, at the same time.

I have my eye on a Chevy. 😂 😂

The new battery seems to have cured my cars starting whoes!.... fired up 1st time after a frosty night, not cured the fuel guage though. 😂 yesterday it ready totally full, this morning 🤔 empty! 😂 fuel warning light is not on though.

I may go and look at a car on Sunday, if it is still there, and it is not raining, need to look under the car, not laying on the rain soaked ground, need a accomplice to go with me too, to listen for bangs, rattles or a noisy engine.

Do they spread salt in your neck of the woods ?

Mostly gravel from what I've seen....I've been under this truck a good dozen times & see absolutely NO rust. I'm also quite grateful that this Beast has a 5-speed manual gearbox behind a 5.7 ltr w/ only 161k on the clock. It ALWAYS runs when I need it to...pretty decent for a 35 y/o pick-up.:littleguy:

Today I've been under a 1954 Austin A40 fitting a stainless exhaust which didn't fit that well but job done.
I should have taken a pic of the under side as it's like it left the factory.

How's them shingles @boboneleg, hope you're recovering well.

Not a mondeo

Personally I would advocate something heavier for you, like a tank or a road roller.

Well time to go pick up a van to move house, it was only a 6 month let with the option to extend if we wished but the house is not fit for purpose and the landlord is a proper bellend so we're not giving him anymore or our money, the new place is a 4 bed town house so getting more room and the kitchen is bigger so the wife is happy

I got my radio for the bike, it's shallower than I was expecting but that's a good thing. I'm hoping the new inner fairing arrives next week while the forks are off.

A smoke run, little snow coming down...this morning.

Has some snow here during the night, not very much, just a dusting.

Looking on Marketplace for a new (to me) car, all the decent ones are 80 miles away, or further, bugger all or sale locally.

Got one to (possibly) view tomorrow,  but that one is in Pontefract.... 55 miles away.

Yeh the Dacia would make that journey easily,  but if! I purchased the car, how would I get it back here?
