Looking like at least carb clean and balance is on the horizon so I may well be bending your ear @Clive. Going to order some new rubbers before even attempting to get them off though. Yeh new intake rubbers were one of the 1st things I bought for the Tiger, the original ones were badly cracked and had gone very hard. My problems stemmed from the bike being stood for years, the middle carb was corroded very badly (but Bruce gave me a spare set) so the middle carb was replaced. I may have got it running sooner and better if I had a ultrasonic cleaner, carb cleaner and toothbrush were not the best for cleaning out the internal passage ways. Even with the Carbtune Pro that Bruce gave me, balancing the carbs was a fiddle, it took me more than several attempts to get it right. 1

Make sure he tells you how to flounce after the third attempt.

How did you get on with the bike once you sorted it.

It was fabulous, a heavy beast, but once on the move most of the weight seemed to disappear, very comfy too, but too heavy a bike for a old man like me. Lol

Lol I know have only done 40 miles on the Sprint, but it was a blast, Bike comfy and fast enough, I really liked it. It feels like the big old 1980’s bike that I can’t afford. I know when these T300’s were current they weren’t real dynamic competition for the Japs of the day but now they fit in a whole different niche. I can’t wait to get it right and pile on the miles.

Saul
Small step to help fix the Sprint. Reference the slipping clutch I was told to rebuild the clutch slave cylinder as if it had been neglected it will stick. Known issue with the T300. I stripped it and was pretty disappointed to see it had spotless fluid and was clean. Bugger probably not that then. . Anyway I had the kit so fitted the new seal and spring and bled it all up with fresh fluid. Appears to be working well but not much hope of it fixing the clutch slip. But we shall see . As soon as I get the chance the next job is to get the carbs off and sort the tickover out. I’m not sure I need to strip and clean them as the bike is starting fine and running well, it’s just when I went to adjust the tick over knob it detached off the adjustment screw which you just can’t reach with the carbs in situ. So they have got to come off just to put that back together. Absolute pain in the arse. As it was ticking over fine but I messed with it. . I sort of hoping the carbs are fine as everything else on the bike seems to be well looked after but we shall see. I have a new set of carb rubbers so I will dig into it as soon as I get chance.
