Had an errand to run in the morning and today is a holiday in Portugal so very little to do in the morning, left early taking advantage of the morning coolness. Went to Santarem, which is one of the hottest cities in Portugal, lovely garden for a short walk before coming back home, testing how it felt to be around as I felt a little weak a few days ago. Great views over the Tejo and one of Portugal's biggest farm region. The Tejo is looking really sad. Storks used to be a migratory bird, when summer arrived they'd settle back to their nests left empty from the previous year. They're starting to stick around year round now. Summer, big heat arriving and the nests have 3 or 4 occupancy instead of 1 or 2, baby storks are so cute. I stopped at two places to see if you can get how many they are Stopped by the Dainese place, and the Hayabusa club was meeting there for a ride, such cool bikes! I'd love one, but honestly don't know what to do with such a fast bike except lose my license. Last 10 or so km before home were going to be on a nice and fast dirt road, but progress creeped up, my lovely dusty dirt road turned into lovely black tarmac. Used to look like this: Now it looks like this: Surely the people who use that to go home much prefer it like this, specially over winter, but today it spoiled my fun

That's great, it's like owning a bike but not really having the discomfort of actually riding it anywhere

Are you up for a bike trip? A gentle couple of months enjoying pleasant temperatures...

I don't know what an Uccio is, but I like Rossi. He's the man.

So, like Rossi on winter tests, then

I´ll miss her ride reports

Agreed, the rear looks like it's upside down and the front looks like it was designed by Vesco in a bad day. -
Silly fast, isn't it?
-
No, it's from Italy, in Europe ... https://www.rizoma.com It's good stuff.

Mine are Rizoma, fitted great and great looking quality. Arrived in a box worthy of a Rolex.

Pooky! I hope he’s well too. hey @modrover

Obviously I never met him but I remember him from DSUK or MaximumBikes, I liked how he and his wife went on immensely long road rides on their bandits or fazers, and used to make fun of all the squids that could neither keep up or ride fast enough. Very sad news, his wife will be going through a difficult time. May he rest in peace.

So, no news then?

See? You went and ruined the funny!

They might now

Yes, everyone copies Harley because everyone wants one.
-
Now “wet head”, it’s not for the shape of the valve covers but for all the sex the owners get
-
It’s a very Harley thing, to name an engine by the shape of the valve covers.

The last few years of that motor, with the four valves per cylinder and 105/110hp were the best engine BMW put into a GS. Apparently they changed to water for higher power and emissions, but the hipster bikes still have an oil cooled engine and that is great, still legal too! I looked into buying a nice one of those, but wanted proper cruise control and couldn’t find a nice one of the later years. The dry clutch and “car” gearbox make sense to me.

Haven’t seen anyone milking a leaky oil seal into three threads before, that bike, being OIL cooled, is going to make for interesting ownership!
