  7. Got the bike back yesterday with all the new bearings fitted. Bike feels much better/quieter and steers well. Funny thing was I hadn't realised how much the steering was affected by the bad bearings. Because there wasn't any notch when riding I just didn't notice it deteriorating over time, but there was a noticeable notch when I put the bike on the main stand and moved the front wheel side to side. It feels much better now though and that may also be going from ball race to tapered bearings as well as the old bearings on their way out. Also had a good look at the old bearings, one of the fronts was noisey and two of the three backs were stiff to turn. So it was due time to change the lot.

  10. Just to close this up I ordered two new stanchions from Wemoto. Both of the originals were just to rough so grasped the nettle and sorted it.

  11. Well after much polava the bike is now finished. The second set of fork seals I fitted also leaked and to be honest I sort of knew they were going to the stanchions were just to rough. So I bit the bullet and ordered new stanchions, bushes, oil and a third set of fork seals. Spent several hours fitting it all today. Dry so far but to be honest I will be completely flabbergasted if they leak now it is practically all new out of the box. Hopefully I won't have to touch much until the next oil service now in 5000 miles time. I was going to use my hydraulic cable oiler to do all the cables today but ran out of will in the end. Especially when I managed to blow a fuse changing a sidelight bulb. And guess what I have hundreds of fuses except for the right one for my fucking bike. Off to ebay in a minute. Will have another tinker around tomorrow to button everything up then thinking about a trip to Sammy Millers later in the week, maybe.

  12. Man, I feel blessed to have a 24 x 24 insulated garage w/ pellet stove heat & wired for 220v. It was quite liberating to bleed off all my motorcycle stuff to my oldest G-son....got plenty of room for Truck work & 2 Ebikes now.

  13. I know they were shit high. Most of the bike was like that when I got it, I have been cleaning nooks and crannies for the year I have owned it. Nearly there now . Also part of the reason I got someone else to do it I know it was shit high in there.

  16. Barry’s got motorcycle-related injuries… but not from crashing on track Barry bought a new bike — then told the wife it was just a “repaint” of the old one. New frame. New engine. New everything. “Same bike, love. Honest.” She did some digging. She clocked it. Now Barry lives in the garage. With the dog. And his “repaint.” Please remember bikes are more inherently dangerous in more than one way. Don’t be a Barry. Lie better. Or just stay single
