  1. Had a run on the dog this afternoon, didn't have a destination in mind and after bumming about at the start i ended up in the Elan Valley, It was going to be a nice gentle back road ride, but as usual i couldn't resist the odd dirt track as i was passing Don't know why i decided to go up here i know what its like and it doesn't get better with time or easier with age Crychan Forest was still closed by fallen trees after the storms a few months ago Not getting through there in a hurry but luckily there was a forest road that i could use as a route around it This was a nice lane but way too many gates for the length of it And another tree down too big for the silky saw but easy enough to get around Water levels looking low in the reservoirs When i got to the dam i remembered they are changing a valve at the bottom of the dam and i think they are keeping the levels low to do it, i will be there to install and wire up the control panel for it sometime this year, a job i looked at about a year ago. And this was the last photo before heading home. 160 mile round trip this was my route

  10. Next carb fitted and alls well with that and the fork leak. Must of had a dodgy seal or something. Got out for a 20 mile run and all was well until it coughed and spluttered to a halt. Not petrol as the rev counter was dropping to nothing and back up. Pulled over to the side of the road and pushed the button and it started again. Pushed and pulled all the connections I could give my hands on but sat there ticking over so rid home. Something to get into later. Couple of pics while out, this is the old town pump in somerleyton and the next is just an old good looking barn with a thumb for perspective, ,both on the same road.

  22. Did you wiggle the CDI plugs you probably know they were known for dry joints on the circuit board in the CDI. When I first had the bike i had to change my CDI because of it.

  29. I went shopping today in Asda and i was behind a grandfather and his badly-behaved grandson. He has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets, biscuits, all sorts of things. The granddad is saying in a controlled voice: “Easy, William, we won’t be long . . . easy boy.” Another outburst and I heard the granddad calmly say : “It’s okay William. Just a couple more minutes and we’ll be out of here. Hang in there, boy.” At the checkout the little horror is throwing items out of the trolley. Granddad says again in a controlled voice : “William, William, relax buddy, don’t get upset. We’ll be home in five minutes, stay cool William.” Well, i was really impressed, so i went outside to where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. I said to the Grandad “It’s none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don’t know how you did it. That whole time you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his granddad.” “Thanks,” said the Granddad. “But I am William. The little bastard’s name is Kevin.”
