Nice scenery but this encouraging cyclists business is a bit borderline. Whoever made that shepherds pie should be executed for crimes against humanity.6 points

75 miles into the ride and we're in the high desert. All was going well when this guy's front wheel got tangled into the back wheel of the bike ahead of him. Apparently Lycra doesn't do shit for avoiding road rash . I radio'd for an ambulance and my bud Chris set the bikes up as a traffic barrier ...6 points

Yes - have done the professional Ironman race in Boulder for the past 3 years. On those, I have a professional referee on the bike with me as pillion. He does all of the yelling at people and I just ride the bike to his instructions. edit: here are some of the Super Tenere's they used at Ironman - built for TV camera guys to move around on. I didn't take a lot of pics at Ironman as I didn't really have the time - too busy being told what to do <gg>.5 points

You know it!.... was an absolute pleasure to work on when it came time for servicing. I had a single car garage @ the time....that was full of Motorcycles, so had to do it all outside in the elements....but was NO problem w/ the motor in between the front seats....just take the lid off the hinged "dogbox" & have full access. I even fit a fresh set of rings & a rebuilt cylinder head all from inside the van. The driveshaft was only 30" long between a 3-speed manual gearbox & a 12 bolt differential rear end. I would take my son skiing for his birthday every Jan. & it was like a rolling locker....just throw all the gear in & GO--5 points

Having curry from a teacup was an absolute first and super funny! It's what happens when we travel without previous booking and it was a fun experience! The food was tasty, if a little hot, but had a great yogurt sauce to calm it down.3 points

After the Monument, we slogged 250 miles on the highway to get home. Tired and cold, it's good to be home. Next weekend is the year's last Moto Mrashal gig - the Denver Century Ride.3 points

New day, heading to Portugal. We left Potes while it was still a little cold, but sunny enough. Stopped for breakfast and parked next to a very odd looking Land Rover. After a brief stop at a lookout, which was mostly taken over by me having a few work calls and emails, we pointed the bikes towards Portugal. Hopped on a very boring motorway for a little bit, then some main roads, and we made it to the border quite early. We were to spend the night very close to the border, sleep in one of my favourite places and have dinner at my favourite Trasmontano restaurant. I had called and asked for my favourite rice to go along with the usual grilled beef. In the meantime, we made time by showing Barbara a little bit around the area. We got ourselves installed, and walked up to have dinner at an appropriate time. I loved it, didn't disappoint. We made it back to the hotel under an amazing sky, at around 22:30 the full moon lit the clouds from behind, and it looked even better in real life. The reason we stayed here was partly because it wasn't too far away from the Picos da Europa, but also because Northern Portugal was plagued with a natural disaster in the form of forest fires. The air was very smokey, the country was in panic, and we wanted to see if that got a little bit resolved before venturing farther on. That was left for tomorrow.1 point

As planned a trip out on the old mountain bike this morning, covered about 35klms which isn’t a massive distance but about 80% of it was on dirt or gravel tracks and it takes its toll on my old bones! Set off about 0830 and the weather was ideal as it was cool(ish) and hazy but by the time I’d got home it was 34.5 Celsius in the shade……quite enough thankyou. Found an old railway station that sits on the Linea Verde close to me, falling apart, covered in graffiti and a bit spooky to be honest……..Pete would’ve loved it. Took a couple of photos for the old twat in case he drops in here to keep an eye on the place! Standing at the station and thinking about Pete made me feel a bit sad actually but then I thought he’d probably call me a cockney wanker and it made me grin. Stopped at the pub before heading home…….because I could.1 point
