  3. Not sure but whatever it is it will be the best bike he’s ever owned, completely reliable because of the dangerous motorcycling he does in Spain and why anyone would want anything else is beyond him

  6. I had cod and chips for dinner in work yesterday as a treat and it was a treat bloody lovely, it wasn't a treat for the boys i was working with though because for some reason fish and chips makes me fart like hell

  7. Car wouldn't start......like it did about 6 weeks ago. Then after a few hours it started fine, but Jesus the mechanic needs to check it in it's "not starting" state. That won't happen today cos they don't work Saturday. So I had to take the wife to the horses on the bike..... I'm sure you'll be interested to know that the bike is obviously so boring that she fell asleep on the way home! Which has never happened on any other bike over the last 40 years! There we go......something else for you sad losers to troll with. The things I do to keep this board moving!

  8. Went for a drive to air out and roll the old bmw while it was not too hot. Tomato picking season is now, hundred of trucks racing back and forth mostly on farm access roads. It's smart stuff, the trailer gets dragged through the fields by farming tractors while picking machines fill it up, then taken to tomato sauce factories using the same trailer but now pulled by trucks. It's a longer than usual trailer, and I guess tomato is a pretty dense product with all that water, how much do you this this is illegal by? My neighbor drives these during tomato season, it's good money but hard work in dusty fields in 40º heat. If he's home tomorrow I'll how much they carry

  9. Could try how my Pops taught me to fix things, start with the cheapest most obvious thing change it and wait n see. Or do what other swines do - don’t mention it and get rid. You often mention how important it is for your bike to be reliable. I view a car that way too. When one of my sons was a baby he became violently ill and we had an evil car that would immobilise itself at the most inconvenient times. Sure enough it did it when I was trying to get my sick son to A&E. No more, if a car show any signs of developing a mechanical fault that would effect it being driven I get it fixed even if sometimes that means somethings being done a bit early or I have to push them to fix it or it costs more. It is an essential item out in the sticks.

  10. If you snooze you loose the only time dealers chase you is when trade is slow if you want something you have to just do it, most dealers won't wait for you unless there's non refundable money involved.

  11. Well that explains why they didn’t bother getting back to you. The bikes came in, people turned up sharpish and they sold like hot cakes. You might have to up your game.

  14. You might have a point, that dude was having serious trouble starting to move from the stoplight. I figured wasted clutch from all the work on soft dirt.

  15. No, it’s shared by road trucks and tractors to tow across the fields. Just spoke to my neighbour who is not available for making a fish bbq tomorrow as he’s working 7 days per week 12 hours a day on these. He drove his truck home which is a cool Volvo. They carry 35 tons of tomato load, minimum! Which tells me they actually carry 40 tons of tomato. Apparently the trucks are homologated to 58 tons full vehicle weight and they fit in a Portuguese grey area in which nobody bothers much with capacity as long as it’s within vehicle homologation. I guess it’s something to do with farming lobbying. They can not go into Spain like that, though, and it seems to me it’s a little bit of don’t ask / don’t tell kind of thing.

  16. Dry here tomorrow, I may go to one of those events where people dress up and pretend to be who they're not. Not a Harley rally. Next weekend I am off to Wiltshire with my littlest tent, with a brief foray into north Devon.

  19. 2013 so his terms would have been up long ago, if he survived it I imagine he’s a hermit again, maybe this time a hermit with a house (his mums likely shuffled off by now), one that spends the warmer weather in the forest, well that’s what I hope Don’t think he’s the sort to give us an update though Great article.

  26. It’s the Harvest Home today and it’s absolutely hammering down. This means all the milling around and activities outside the marquee will be a washout and everyone will be crammed into the soggy floored bar area getting pie eyed even earlier than usual. The rugby club run the bar and Mr Slowly will be there all day. I’m trying not to pretend I find that very funny. Tis especially sweet as the boys are off sugar soaping and prepping the walls for painting so I’ll have the house to myself and intend to totally waste my day I’m considering ordering fish and chips just for me

  29. I went to Neath Llanelli today to see a mate. He recently had a heart attack and while they processed him in Hospital he found out that he had cancer on his kidney as well Anyway he looked in surprisingly good form and showed us what £250,000 gets you for a house in Llanelli. They moved from Bristol last year and now have a lovely 4-bed house there which would cost £480 - £500,000 all day long in Bristol. Tomorrow looks like a complete washout but looking forward to Sunday (my wallet isn't) as we will be having a family meal for 16 of us at a local resturant as my son is 30 years old next Wednesday.

  31. I just read this online and then realised that I'd read it before. I find it utterly fascinating but without a conclusion, I doubt if there will be any real conclusion unless the guy dies https://getpocket.com/explore/item/the-strange-curious-tale-of-the-last-true-hermit?utm_source=pocket-newtab-global-en-GB

  33. Feel like I’m doing something bad ordering food for just myself, I’ve never done this before, it’s… great the order has been placed. Cod, chips, mushy peas, curry sauce and tartare sauce. The curry sauce they do isn’t the bog standard, it’s very very good I bet someone comes home and I get caught

  38. So far the breakfast of sausage n beans with mushroom omelette, the seafood boil and the cheesecake have been good, worth looking forward to eating. The meatballs in gravy, no, not awful but not something I’d look forward to so that’s out. This one ‘Bodged Fajita’s’ is a definite yes. Again small amount of ingredients so it’s easy to carry and make and there‘s less waste. Missing from the pic ‘el paso’ fajita seasoning and sour cream, sour cream is not widely available in Spain, however they do have creme fraiche and there will without a doubt be beautiful lemons to sour it. I did two versions one with already cooked Swedish meatballs because I was concerned about the chicken version solidifying into one lump. I needn’t of worried they both had to be broken up minimally after cooking in the kettle for 40 mins at 95 degrees. Missing from pic the ‘El Paso fajita’ mix Forgot to mention a hefty chunk of butter went in The meatball version, the meatballs were quartered before cooking. The chicken version, released a lot more liquid but was somehow still just as good flavour wise. Happy with that because spring onion, peppers and chicken are available everywhere and it was extremely easy to put together as well as being food to look forward to. The tasting panel wolfed 12 tortillas worth in a very short time leaving the bowls empty and gave both the meatball version and the chicken version a big thumbs up.

  39. Had a lovely ride back from Clevedon Motorcycles. It really made up for the crappy bickering the boys were doing. The motorway looked busy on the way up so I came back on A and B roads. Got a bit of the devil about me on the the A370 as some guy was keen to catch up and then hung off my back wheel in an annoying fashion. I thought I wonder if I can lose him on a Himalayan? It’s obviously a slow bike but I have the advantage of being in front and if I ring it’s neck I think I might.. no don’t be stupid.. wait.. what’s happening.. my arm has been possessed.. stop twisting the throttle… mwahahaaaaaaa
