I'm going on my boat trip on Sunday, the one to see the WW2 forts. A delightful trip on a summer's day or four and a half hours of chucking my guts up, who can tell? I visited Strange Dave last night. He has a new part time job. He shoots rabbits, squirrels and rats for pest control. His gun sight has a video function, so I got treated to many rodent deaths, they don't know when to give up when shot, I'll say that for them. One of his regular jobs is a warehouse full of old loaves of bread which gets chopped up to go into animal feed. The piles are swarming with rats at night, he said it's nearly made him turn vegetarian as the bread must be full of rats' piss. I watched the gunsight films of mass slaughter, all the rats have glowing eyes in the night scope.3 points

That reminded me of a story an old friend of mine told me, when he was an apprentice he used to have marmite on toast for breakfast in work everyday but somebody else was helping themselves to his marmite and when complained they all took the piss out of him, so he got pissed off one day and picked up all the dead flies he could find in the cabin and mushed them up in his jar of marmite the marmite was getting used and he kept up the moaning about it so whoever it was would still think it was funny and would carry on using it2 points

Broccoli with almost caramelized garlic, and free range eggs from down the street, great eggs: My version of what you call a plowman's lunch Some great olives, good tomatoes and amazing olive oil, and a southern portuguese salad turns into something great Sofia's lamb ragu, frozen and gifted to me. I used it on some fusilli instead of the pie it was meant to Simple and old school rustic, onion and tuna pasta, extra creamy from the jumping I'm perfecting with my italian pan1 point
